5. COSSSSSSSSSSTUMEEEESSSS. Although the styles/centuries were all over the place, I loved Regina’s turquoise riding jacket and her wedding dress! That crazy cloak thing she wore after being proposed to was ridiculous; it didn’t even cover her arms! What purpose did it even have?

6. The heart trick: another stupidity that reminded me of Star Wars. (How Padme always managed to have buns on either side of her head in EVERY MOVIE.) It seemed vastly unnecessary to me. Why not stab him? Or suffocate him? Or just AK him so he drops dead? Why take out his heart if you’re just going to grind it to dust anyway? Either: A) Regina uses that moment as inspiration for her later killings, B) the show is using it to be like, “HEEHEE, it runs in the family!” or C) both.

7. I liked August better in this episode, but I would still like some hint as to what his deal is. I am hesitant to name him anything resembling a fairy tale creature on account of he came from outside Storybrooke. I thought it would be really interesting if he was Emma’s ex/Henry’s father, but I would assume that Emma would remember him. (Although his line tonight about how sometimes it’s hard to notice what’s right in front of you made me hesitate.) Leg cramp: WTF.

LOL “I’ve heard rumors he’s very mysterious.”

8. Also, why did Regina just expose her whole deal to Mary Margaret? It made for a great dramatic moment for Mary Margaret, but WTF, don’t gloat before the deal is done! Regina displayed some very disappointing behavior in this episode.

9. CATHERINE. WHAT THE HELL.

Regina: Um.... so you don't think she may have been completely traumatized by seeing her boyfriend murdered in front of her by her mother? It wasn't a 'failed teenage romance'. It was her mother forcibly destroying the thing she loved and what she believed was her chance for freedom. She was also completely trapped by her evil abusive stage mother, and in a probably PTSD-state couldn't focus her anger on her mother because she didn't have the ability to fight her. I mean, did you just miss the fact that Daniel was murdered?

I'm actually pretty fascinated with her behavior. I don't want there to be any kind of redeeming arc for her, but I would like to see her torn down and her reactions. I mean, there's a reason for her stone-cold bitch behavior, and sometimes we see little hints of something else there.

2. I thought it was pretty fascinating when Regina couldn't figure out whether Rumple remembered or not and he was clearly having a blast being cryptic and vague about it, but now that they both know he knows, their interactions have just skyrocketed into awesome amazing 'pick apart with a fine-toothed comb' fascinating! Although we probably shouldn't assume Regina is the child from the story. I mean, Cora mentioned 'deals' plural to get her power, and she faltered slightly when saying it. Regina could be her fifteenth-born child, all the previous ones having been traded away to Rumple for power of various kinds. Of course, Regina being the one from the story would make everything more interesting...

Some theories about what Rumple wants: 1. This curse is described as 'the curse to end all curses', maybe he's doing an incredibly convoluted plot to break his own curse. 2. Maybe he is trying to destroy Regina. Think about it--the curse took away what everyone loved most, but as it's weakening people seem to be getting those things back. The only person who can't have the thing she loved restored by ending the curse is Regina, because she killed the thing she loved most (her father) to cast the curse.

6. Or maybe sometime later Regina kills her mother and takes her powers.

7. People seem absolutely convinced he's Pinocchio, based on the flimsiest of evidence, which makes me really hope he's not, it seems so dumb to me. There's also the theory that--okay, so, this one time Emma was looking at newspaper clippings about being found on the side of the road... by a seven-year-old boy. It was a freeze-frame moment, but that's where my money is. Still, based on what we've seen of him there has to be more to it than that. Maybe he got all the stories blasted into his brain or something.

I don't want him to be romantic with Emma, but at the same time, his interactions with Henry are much creepier if he's not the kid's father or uncle or grandchild from the future or something.

8. Regina's been in control too long, and because it's all personal and about revenge and she's kinda crazy about it, she did not have the self-control to keep her mouth shut.

Regina: Okay, DUH. I guess I meant that I was hoping it wouldn't make the catalyst of her life a man/romance. Obviously she lived through some very traumatic events, including her mother's verbal abuse and Daniel's death, but it's just the thing I mentioned earlier about wanting the women to get plots that don't involve romance. EVERY SINGLE ONE has so far. Red is a possible exception since she killed and ate her teenage love, but yeah. I admit readily that that's how most of the stories go, but they have shown no qualms so far about shaking up the stories (mostly to include Rumple and/or the queen); why not just shake it up a little more?

It also ties in with what I was saying about how I thought it was unnecessary to show everything falling apart in a day when it could have decayed slowly over the course of time.

I'm also fascinated by her behavior, but like I said before, I would really like to see her do some new things. I guess what irritates me is that she is stone-cold to pretty much everyone; she has NO interpersonal relationships at all. Even the few people she speaks to with variation only get a kind of gloaty friendliness.

2. YES on all counts, but I'm sticking by "Regina is the child originally promised to Rumple" unless discounted. Her mother did mention "deals" but since they went out of their way to mention that she's the miller's daughter, that's what I'm going with. Especially since that would mean Rumple has a possible, potential claim on her.

I think it would be interesting if Rumple intends to end his curse; that means he's made some big steps since the events of "Skin Deep." So I'm wondering at what point he decided that the curse wasn't worth it, if that is what he's going for. I also like the idea that he's trying to destroy Regina since they kind of have a frenemy rivalry going on, but...yeah.

6. Also a possibility.

7. Although I can buy into Pinocchio being enough of a kind of folk story to qualify for fairy tale deconstruction, I generally disapprove of it. Fables made it work LIKE WHOA, but so far I've been very turned off by the presence of Jiminy Cricket. Therefore, I see no real reason why August should be Pinocchio; there's not much evidence aside from "Jiminy Cricket exists." The mere fact that he exists outside of Storybrooke shows me that he is outside of the curse and hence not a fairy tale character. I'm still confused about why he's so interested in Storybrooke but there's not much evidence for him being much of anything aside from some guy yet.

I liked his interaction with Emma, and I didn't find most of his interaction with Henry creepy. In more recent episodes in particular (don't remember the earlier ones), I just saw it as them bonding over their mutual interest in the stories. Or something, I don't know. (I'm watching Megamind while writing this, so.)

8. SIGH, the supervillain gloat.
