Honestly, the flashback parts kind of made me want to barf. They were soooooo ridiculously hokey. Starting with the egg and ending with the melodramatic new Grumpy axe. The whole thing. The actors were great, it was just...ridiculous.
I found the modern parts to be much, much more appealing--Amy Acker looked so cute in her cape and skirt, and Lee Arenberg managed to be adorable. (PS: I love him.) I really liked him bonding with Snow, with him being the crazy romantic optimistic one and her being the one trying to pull him back. Also, the "knocking on doors" montage was great; I laughed out loud at the sad look on Snow's face. (I guess I should call her Mary Margaret?)
Mary Margaret is just so cute I'm surprised she doesn't just explode into piles of bunnies and kittens and Anthro dresses. She's just precious. I'm so glad people got over her in this ep! But I'm not looking forward to the drama, that's going to be awkward.
Rumple: is awesome. Does it mean I'm dense if I took away from that conversation, "I hate nuns. For...reasons. I just hate nuns, okay?" He was kind of hilarious in that scene. And then the part with Belle kind of blew my mind; that was when I texted "WHOA MAN" to you.
You know, I don't think he has to pretend much. If he just keeps being a stingy, moderately polite jerk, people probably won't question him much. "You hate nuns? OKAY THEN, please buy my boat!"
