i just ordered a ticket for the murder city devils in february. two years ago, the showbox announced it was going to fuck over their customers by shifting ticket sales to ticketmaster (and then
incompetently defend their decision in online forums; improved services?!). let's see how that played out...
$20.00 Ticket
$8.10 Total Convenience Charge(s)
$0.41 Additional Taxes
$5.36 Order Processing Charge(s)
$0.00 Standard Mail
$33.87 TOTAL CHARGES
we're inching closer to where all of their charges are equal to the price of the ticket, and this is the least amount of charges possible in an online sale. as much as i'm not a fan of live nation, i'm glad there will be a
legitimate challenger to ticketmaster on the national scene very soon. there was clearly some animosity in the ending of their business agreement, so it will be interesting to see the results. brown paper tickets and ticketweb are both much better, but clearly don't have the bargaining power to get venues to use them instead. hell, the showbox booker claims he was unaware of their features, and the showbox has no reason to lie, right?
