I finally went through all my tags on del.i.cious and reorganized them (note to self: tagging everything as either "fic" or "heroes" is not, in fact, very helpful -.-) And so, I come bearing recs of the gen persuasion! (Well, some of them have pairing undertones, but for the most part they're gen). I've also made pledge to leave as much feedback as humanly possible. I always feel weird leaving fb on older stories, for some reason, but I've decided that's a silly reason not to so I'm gonna anyway.

On the Perils of the Modern Office by shinealightonme Elle-centric. I think that the author's summary says it best: Elle decides to try life like a normal person. That works about as well as you expect. Extremely funny and her Elle voice is perfect.
When the Iron is Hot by alicbluegown16 - Spoilers for S3 - Matt discovers more disturbing paintings of what might have been. Her Matt is characterization is excellent, and his reactions really resonated with me.
A Face in the Crowd by saestina - A story about Claire's life as an immortal. Utterly heart-breaking. Saestina's prose is beautiful.
Brick by sinemoras09 - FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! Sylar and Claude, uh, FIGHT! And it's awesome and a lot of fun. I usually have a really hard time visualizing action scenes, but the author is very good at writing things clearly and dynamically.
And last, but very much not least: Five Games Sylar Never Played by sameoldhope It is hands-down the BEST Sylar fic I have ever read. Ever. Her characterization is flawless, not only of Sylar, but also of Micah, Peter, Molly, Noah, and Mohinder. The fic is structured into five parts, with variations on scenes we've seen, and AU scenes of what might have been. The prose is excellent. I can't articulate enough how much I love this fic. GO READ IT NOW.
