2.18.2C: “The devil doesn't exist…you’re responsible for your own good and evil.” Marilyn Manson
Responsibility. It’s Holiness rages on and on at the council of angels for hours on end about their irresponsibility with the war. Lucifer sinks down and down into his chair, landing on the floor with a resounding thud, clearly ashamed. Metatron is bright red with embarrassment, so much so that he looks away. Sariel sits in silence, stone faced and cold, ignoring Adonai’s ramblings. It’s too much to deal with.
It says that there was no clear “evil” side to the war, that everything was muted in shades of grey and that no one should have done anything to prove Samael. It’s eyes rest on Sariel when It says this. Sariel ignores it.
Adonai finishes after a five hour rant and purge session, deciding that It will not speak to any angel for the time being. A few open their mouths to protest, but stop themselves, knowing that it would be a very bad mistake.
Lucifer walks over to her afterwards with Azrael beside him.
“That was quite a lecture,” Azrael says quietly.
Lucifer simply nods in agreement. Sariel rolls her eyes, “Anyone else catch the idiocy in the whole thing? Lecturing us about responsibility and starting the war when It ignore It’s own responsibilities here as a God when It damn well knew there might be a war?”
The two stare at her and sigh.
“Samael needed to go down. We did the right thing. It’s just trying to guilt trip us into thinking otherwise.”
Lucifer sighs and rubs the bridge of her nose. Sariel walks off without another word, irate.
