Beads, food & film
The title pretty much sums up my weekend.
Sat:
Been thinking about picking up jewellery making & happened to mention it to my colleague who indicated interest as well, so both of us arranged to go to Arab St on Sat morning to get some materials. Met up and had pratas at Singapore Zamzam since the shops only open at 9am.
It was a good thing we set off early coz we were both overwhelmed by the variety of beads. I kept telling her that I made the wrong choice in wanting to start this new hobby coz I can't seem to make up my mind about what I want. We spent the entire morning examining the racks & consulting each other. Finally I decided that I had enough and scooted off to pay before I could change my mind.
We parted ways after that coz she had something else to attend to. I walked over to Bugis Street..gee the place has changed. Then on to Bugis Junction, Bras Basah Complex & Raffles City. Which brings me to my next question. Have I been transported somewhere else coz everywhere looks so different. Raffles City basement has turned into a maze! So many shops there now!
Met up with the bf at abt 3 and just hung out for a bit before meeting up with Joe & wife at First Thai for dinz. Wanted to head for Settlers cafe after that but it was packed, so we proceeded on to Cheesecake Cafe for...whatelse? Cheesecakes! Made plans to go to Sungei Buloh soon as well.

Had booked tickets earlier for the family to watch Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest. This would be my 2nd time catching this show. Enjoyed it loads which is why I dun mind watching it again! Realised something though, the last time I watched a movie in the cinema for the 2nd time was Charlie & the Chocolate Factory which also stars Johnny Depp..hmmmm.
Caught the movie then headed to Turf City for a seafood dinner. The family who hosted us during our New Zealand trip last year was in Singapore so we had a gd time catching up. It felt like we were just picking up from where we left off. Everyone looked the same, friendly chattering all through dinz and we enjoyed the meal immensely. Bamboo clams with garlic, geoduck sashimi, steamed tiger grouper, chilli crab & butter crab. Yummm!
Now the wkend's done. Looking forward to next week. Sungei Buloh outing has been penciled in, belated bday pressie coming in, hopefully I can get started on my jewellery making as well.
