HK 2012

So we've taken our 1st trip of the year, hope there'll be more to come.

HK, this time around, was a whirlwind of walking and shopping. My legs felt ready to drop off at the end of every night, but it was partly our bad too, coz our hotel, which looked like it was less than 5 mins away from the nearest MTR entrance, didn't translate to being 5 mins away from the trains. We still had to walk like 10 mins through the underpass to get to the trains. Not something we enjoyed after a long day of pounding the streets.

That aside, while HK-ers lamented the cold weather which struck while we were there, it was a delight for us. We gleefully enjoyed the near-10 degree temps, E's happiest moment was the short period when he could breathe out visibly vapour, hahah! For me, I happily put on my winter stuff which were too OTT back in Singapore. However it started warming up during our last 2 days in HK, kind of like a subtle reminder that we would soon be heading home to our warm little island.

Also, after this trip, I can proudly proclaim that I've found my shopaholic side. There's something about HK that uncovers it. I never shop like this anywhere else. My loot included a mountain of clothes from H&M, too many bags than I can count, including a calfskin bag which I got for like S$50, which I sniff at appreciatively whenever I use it and a Porter handbag in red :), plus a whole carton of Chu Qian Yi Ding noodles. And with a geeky hubby, we bought our share of techie stuff too, and ended up having to buy a luggage scale to make sure that our bags are evenly distributed and no overweight baggage scare.

I bought possibly a quarter of HK during our trip last year in Mar, which caused my luggage to be 3kgs over the limit if I rem correctly, but luckily the counter staff waived the charges, nevertheless E was more cautious this time. Probably scared of his wife now.

I think I should fly over with just the clothes on me the next time, that'll maximise my carrying capacity....wonder what E would think of that?
