I always get really excited about July coz there are so many happy days to look forward to, starting with our dating anniversary on July 7th, my birthday on July 10th and mumsie's bday on July 20th!
Especially after the Incident, I wanted to put June aside and start the second half of 2011 on a clean slate. So what better way to do it than with a big bang right?
We planned to go for a nice dinner on 7th July to celebrate our anniversary, but after I learnt that mumsie had no dinner plans that night, I couldn't bear to leave her alone, so we decided to push back our big date and spent that day with mumsie instead. She did so much for me when I was down and needed help, how could I abandon her just like that? :)
Oh, but E did buy his airfryer that day and he insisted that it's my bday present! *growls* Woe be me the day he gifts me with household appliances for my bday....no way!
So on July 8th, we had our big day out and got all dressed up and headed to town, it was kinda fun coz we rarely dress up just for the sake of it nowadays. And doing so made me feel like we went back to the days when we first started dating. We did a spot of shopping and headed to Lawry's for dinner. 2 places I lurve going for steak...Lawrys and Black Angus. Prime ribeye is my absolute fave and E gets a kick out of the ecstasy I seem to sink into when I bite into their steaks. Just thinking about it puts a smile on my face. I'm so never gonna turn vegetarian.....
I had to make a small sacrifice there though. I told E about the first time I celebrated my birthday there with my family, and had the staff there surprise me with a round of Happy Birthday song, which ended with 'And many mooooore!' flourish. OMG, my face turned sooo red I thought I might burst into flames. E thought I made it up, so I informed them that we were there for a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. Of coz, this time I was a tad more prepared but I still get really embarrassed by the attention. Although I was very happy with the foto I got with E :)
July 10th, we made reservations at Basilico for their Sunday brunch. This is another personal fave of ours and I've been wanting to bring my parents there for eons so using my birthday as a reason, we finally went there as a family and stuffed ourselves full. It had been a long time since we've all shared so much laughter and I was grateful for that day.
On a side note...E still owes me a bday present till this date though...buahaha! But it's not really his fault. He's asked me many times what I want, but I've never really answered him. Material goods just don't do it for me at this point, I have what I need and my family, including E, have made my July so meaningful that it's really all that I want, to be happy with the ones I love.
family,
just me
