I haven't had a chance to spend much time in the sun, but all that changed this weekend. I signed us up for a tour to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve organised by my company.
So on at 6am on a Saturday morning, I dragged myself out of bed when usually I'll be snoozing till at least 9am before I even attempt to remove myself from the bedroom. And it was a really goodl trip. I vaguely recalled that my secondary school brought us there for a field trip when it just opened, and with some quick math, I realised that it's been over 10 years since my first visit there. We had a guide explaining things to us all the way, identifying animals and plants and since we were in a group, with so many pairs of eyes around, we had a great time spotting things I bet the bf and I would have missed if we went on our own. From spiders to ants, bamboo to attap, monitor lizards to mudskippers, we saw them all.
Best of all, the weather was great. I definitely wanna go back again and cover more areas.
Then on Sunday, I went tomb-sweeping (Qing Ming) for my paternal side of the family. My great-grandmother's grave has been affected by the upcoming Downtown line and will be exhumed later this year. This means this will be the last time we'll get to clamber over graves and climb up slopey hills to get to her tomb. Again, the sun was shining so strongly, I thought I might catch fire. I got kinda worried about my camera too, wondering if this intensive heat would do anything to it. Yeah, I was the apppointed camera girl for this significant day. Please just don't make me take piccies when they do the exhumation. I don't think I can bear it.
So I got loads of vitamin D over the weekend AND alot of walking too. My feet and thighs have been screaming at me.
