Cheryse was pouting while taking a shower on the empty club room. She had another fight with her mother regarding her club activities. She had asked her to quit the club, because it’s distracting her from her piano lesson. Of course she rejected it immediately. Don’t get it wrong, she liked playing piano as she wanted to catch up to her older brother, but at the same time, she doesn’t want to stop swimming either.
She sighed, and began to wash her hair. She would have a talk with his brother tonight. She knew that her mother couldn’t do anything as long as she has her brother’s support. Suddenly, she heard someone opening the club room’s door, and she couldn’t help but to feel aware as the other students has long gone. She rinsed her hair before she opened her eyes again, only to find that a man was standing in front of her. She glared hard at him before she pushed him out.
“What do you think you are doing, you bastard?” She said while jabbing her finger into his chest.
The boy remained silent while he kept staring at her. And then everything fell silent until Cheryse screamed and slapped him hard.
“PERVERT!!! GET OUT FROM HERE RIGHT NOW!”
The man who just seemed to be woken up from his trance bowed his head immediately before he fled from the scene. Cheryse sighed as she returned back to the shower stall and finished her shower and got dressed. Her cheeks felt hot. This was the first time someone had seen her naked.
She was about to leave when she saw that the pervert was still there. She glared at him, making the shorter boy wince. If look could kill, he surely has been dead by now.
“I’m sorry--- it was accident, I swear. I just heard the water running and I just want to check if everything is alright.” He tried to explain the situation to her, but she played deaf with his apology.
“I don’t believe you. And I advise you to leave right now before I lost all my patience and start to beat you up.” She crossed her arms in front of her chest before she huffed in anger.
“Please believe me. It wasn’t my intention to peep at you.” Luc tried to reason out.
Cheryse just shook her head and threw him another glare before she left, without saying anything anymore. She was just wasting her time by dealing with an idiot like him. She went into the opposite direction from him and disappeared in the corridor.
“I couldn’t believe you laughed at me like that, you bastard!” Cheryse yelled; annoyed with her best friend who tried to hide his grin. She tried to punch him, but Sakurada Rai had run away before she had the chance to do that.
She was about to chase him when someone bumped into her. She winced and looked down to see who the hell it was. She groaned when she realized that it was the same person who peeped at her last night.
“Why are you always following me, you pervert?” She scowled, irritation clearly written on her beautiful face.
“Hey, it wasn’t my fault. I told you that it wasn’t intentional. I’m not a pervert.” He said offhandedly.
She was about to yell something at him when Rai suddenly showed up again in front of her with a brown haired boy she had never seen before. And at that time, she didn’t like the smirk on her best friend’s face. She knew that he was planning something, and it involved her in it.
Suddenly the bell rang, and without saying anything, Rai grabbed the blue haired girl and dragged her to their class. He already had something planned on his mind, and he was amused to know that the vice president has the same idea with him.
The rest of the day went uneventful for Cheryse. She has just finished packing her bag, and was about to go to the pool when Rai called her from the window. She raised an eyebrow at him, but when he kept calling for her, she gave up and went to meet him to see what he wanted from her. It’s not like she wanted to go home early anyway. Her mother was still pestering her to quit the club. Cheryse was really tempted to go against her, but last night Albel had told her to calm down and that he would do something to help her.
“What is it, Rai?”
“You will see.” Rai grinned at her before he pushed her into the room behind her and quickly locked the door before the girl had the chance to escape. He looked at the younger boy who was watching the whole scene and gave him a thumb up. It went just as he planned. The other boy replied him with a similar smirk on his face.
“RAI YOU BASTARD!!! OPEN THE DOOR RIGHT NOW! I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PLANNING BUT IF YOU WONT OPEN THE DOOR RIGHT NOW I SWEAR I WILL BEAT YOU UNTIL YOU BEG MY FORGIVENESS LATER!!!”
Cheryse shouted furiously when she realized that she had been tricked by him. She kicked the door angrily and tried to open it again but failed miserably. She glared at the door before she started to bang on it again.
“What happened here? …oh, it’s you again.” The shorter boy smiled while buttoning up his shirt.
Cheryse looked at him in disbelief before she blushed and shoved him to the changing room again.
“Don’t you dare to come out before you finished changing, you pervert!” She yelled.
A moment later, the blond boy emerged from the changing room, a smile still plastered on his face. The taller girl ignored him completely while still busying herself with the goddamned door.
“What are you doing here anyway?” He asked politely.
“If you cannot see it, then I need to tell you that my idiot of a friend has locked us here.” Cheryse replied annoyedly. Just looking at the smiling face was enough to make her want to slap him again.
“Ah, it’s not a big deal. We still have a spare key …“ he stopped dead before he continued with a smaller voice, “the key is gone….”
Cheryse glared at him before she kicked the door so hard, making the short haired boy wince, before she sat on the bench to sulk.
“Hey, are you okay?” He asked the taller girl before he offered his hand, “I think we haven’t introduced ourselves, right? I’m Lucian Everley, but everyone just call me Luc.”
Cheryse looked at him for a moment before she smirked and accepted the offered hand, “So the pervert is the president of the student council. I’m Cheryse Lingard. And just so you know, I’m a year older than you. So you better not do something stupid like yesterday.”
Luc just smiled sheepishly while scratching his head, “I told you already that it was an accident, senpai. I apologized for my rudeness last night, but really … it was past closing time and I was just worried … May I seat beside you?” He asked again.
Cheryse sighed and nodded reluctantly. Maybe she over-reacted last time, not to mention that she had been in a bad mood since yesterday. But still, he was the only person that had seen her naked beside her parents, and thinking about that made her blush again.
“If you don’t mind … would you tell me why you were at the shower room yesterday? From what I know, there are no club activities on Thursday.”
“It’s none of your business, Chibi.” She said while smirking. The nickname fit him well.
“I see… Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?” Luc tried to change the subject when he sensed that his question has made the girl’s mood worsened.
“No.”
Just when Luc was about to say something, Cheryse’s phone began to ring and she picked it up immediately. He could see that she was pouting when she read the caller id name.
“Yes Mom?... No. I won’t quit. It’s my final decision, and stop comparing me with Niisama!” She said the final words before she ended the call and turned her cell phone off. She got up from her place suddenly and hit the locker in front of her. Luc watched her worriedly before he put his hand on her shoulder.
“Senpai? Are you okay?” He asked while he took her hand and examined it closely. It will be bruised tomorrow; there is no doubt about it. He took his handkerchief from his back pocket before he wrapped her knuckle gently.
“It is better if you don’t do that again, Senpai. I don’t like to see you getting hurt.” He said softly and led Cheryse back to the bench. The older girl just stayed silent before she said a soft ‘thank you’ to him.
“My mother has been asking me to quit the swimming club. I don’t want to do that. I know I’m not as good as my brother when it comes to music. The thing is that I love both music and swimming, and I can’t choose between them. She always compares me with Niisama, and it made me sick at some point.” She took a deep breath before she continued, “Yesterday I was furious and need to calm myself, so I sneaked back to the school and went to the pool to swim.”
“Ee? But how? The entire gates are locked…” Luc asked her out of curiosity.
“I jumped through the fence, silly.” Cheryse answered smugly.
“EE???? Isn’t that dangerous, senpai??”
“Not for me. I’ve been doing that since I entered this school, Chibi.” She said with a playful smile on her lips. “Thank you for listening anyway. I need to go back and talk to my brother about this. I don’t want to make him upset.”
She got up without waiting for his answer and knocked the locked door softly.
“Rai, open the door right now. I know you have been listening there, and I need to go home right now.”
A soft click could be heard, and Cheryse opened the door easily. She took a glance at the boy she just knew and nodded. “I’ll see you tomorrow then; I still need to return you the handkerchief anyway. And once again… thank you.”
She gave him one of her rare smile before disappearing into the corridor once again.
