there's a funny thing about my fanfic, and I'll explain why in a moment, but I am a "writer's" writer, which means the people whose fic you're reading have probably read my work, but the ground level fangirl has never heard of me ( Read more... )

it's one tiny subset of one fandom, well i say "tiny".... it's relative, this is what happens when fandoms have one pairing for years and then someone introduces a second one
this never happened in weiss where it was a free for all.

it's the idiocy that makes me laugh though, and they are so fierce in defending the character, and that's it, because it's not the author, they want to poke at an author who works in a different pairing and think that "they" have it right and I've abused their character in some way, although what's good is the fic they picked at is actually quite fair to him.

The one for Simon and Garfunkle was great because she didn't bother to go to the original author and was really apologetic about the use of someone else's poetry because perhaps I didn't realise it was wrong, and I swear I was like whuh for a good hour before I realised what she meant, and then I linked her to youtube
but i'd love to see their faces when they get my email saying I'll look into the fic that they think has plagiarised me (it's practically a stock email) because it's not as old. That'll be when they look at it.

One said blatantly that she had gotten the idea from me and had my permission to use it, I had left comments on it.

They just get so righteously indignant, it's hilarious
and besides they're far too well read for Fox, it's CNN all the way with this lot.

(all news is biassed, as the axiom states - history is written by the victors)
notice the Massacre at Little Big Horn and the Battle of Wounded Knee
