Regarding old posts, you got that stuff off your chest and have moved on, so why not delete it? I have done that, had a couple of rather liberal anti-war and anti-telco rants on a friend's site but took them down because I had also posted some photos and feared a determined type could link them back to me.
Moving forward, you might want to have one or a few accounts that are "legit," because you know they're going to do a search on you. Then create one or a few others for ranting on, with a fake name (duh), photos without a face, etc.
You could create a free blog at blogspot, they don't seem to be too picky there. But then you need to go through the whole friends-finding process, so maybe having another account at LJ would be better? But if your friends lists on both accounts are virtually identical then maybe that would be a give-away.
Uhg how did life get so complicated??
A friend who works for lawyers says they can get into your private posts, but then what are you posting that someone would sue you for? Let's say that's a rhetorical question.
