Happy birthday to me!
So, it's been over a month since I last posted, which is bad for my journal but good for me. I don't have very much time to spend on the internet because I'm so busy. If/when I do find a moment, it's usually really early before class. Speaking of, I'm so in love with this. There are a lot of people out there who go to school and wind up with degrees that do nothing for them. Then, they end up working jobs that they don't necessarily want just to make ends meet. Emergency medicine is a passion, as my instructors always say, and oh man are they right! I might have known that I'd love it this much, though. Every time Mickey, Kevin or Andrew would talk about it I'd be thrilled just to listen. Now, I'm doing.
I even has my first Core the other day and witnessed my first TOD. I was literally pumping at the patient's chest right before they made the call. Another EMT I was working with on Friday said she's only ever had four TODs in two years. So, one down, three to go and I'm good till 2009!
Honestly, though, I've never been happier in my whole life. Everyday I do something more exciting than the last. Thursday, we even got to work on take-downs. I was teamed with three skinnny people against a tank in our class named Joe. Lol, he gave us a run for our money and blood was definately spilled. It gives you a strong appreciation for what can happen in the field, on top of which, Joe didn't actually want to hurt any of us!
Lol, I was going to write more, but I started this at 5:57 and it's now 6:37. I had to get up, take the dog out and feed him. Now, he needs a walk. I guess I'll write more later if I get an opportunity!
