Now, I'm a virgin when it comes to reading a lot of Stephen King. I don't like his writing style. But If i had a favorite story, it'd be 'The Mist'. I first heard/read it, when I was young, as a '3d experience' in a cassette form. basically it's a radioshow.
Now, I was skeptical of this movie, waiting for the movie to mercilessly rape one a good story of losing hope. I was taken aback. It started weak, but the story did also. Almost word for word, too.
NOW, i expected ass-chafing cgi... I was sorely mistaken. the 'creatures' made my skin tingle and jump. I knew the story, as I'd listened to it several times trying to make sure i'd gleaned every ounce of story from that library cassette. It was SPOT ON. A few 'extras', a buffed up story, but still keeping to the core of the story.
I must finally say in the eternal struggle, of 'which was better, Book or Movie?' I must happily proclaim, the Movie.
Score: 9.5/10
Why?: The spiders made me want to shit myself, Ms. Carmody made me remember why i despise religion, and I'm seriously thinking of bringing a gun to the next Pick N' Save I go to, as a "just in case".
