恭喜發財!
First of all, Happy Chinese New Year to everyone~!(^o^)/
I'm not a Chinese myself, but I've had some Chinese New Year Eve (LOL some Japanese I am. HAHAHA)!
Yesterday and today, there was an Otaku Expo 2012 in Megatrade Hall 1, SM Mega Mall. I wasn't able to visit yesterday because I had no time. But I was able to go todaaaay~!!\(> w <)/ There were TONS of people in the place (*A*) There were lots of cosplayers in the convention and they were SO awesome! There was one guy who was wearing a kitsune mask (similar to the one that Itachi from Naruto wears) and all dressed up (but I wasn't sure what he was cosplaying HAHA). He was looking towards my direction while trying to call my mom on the phone when I went out of the hall. He was holding a fake sword and he started walking towards me like a killer =)))) Of course, he didn't mean to do that, but he just started walking towards me and he really looked like he was going to attack me. HAHAHA. I also bumped onto one of my old schoolmates back in highschool. I was honestly surprised that she still remembered me :p
Anyhow, the convention was like a PARADISE!(*A*) There were several stores that sold JE merchandises and I DIED =))) One store sold keychains, bag tags, cushions and all the other personalized things and they were so cheap!(*A*) There was one shop that sold tons of KAT-TUN and Arashi CDs plus several photobooks/old calendars and made-keychains. The keychains were REALLY cheap (and it's also the same shop where I bought my keychains before during the J-pop Festival 2011), but their stuff like the uchiwas, CDs and the photobooks and all those stuff were expensive O____O (orz) They had a mini uchiwa of Yabu from spring con 2011, but it was like P550 @_@ HURRR. And I've been wanting [and tempted] to get iiiiit!!!(;A;) HUHU. I want a Yabu uchiwa badly (T_T) But here's the GREAT thing. This one shop that held a JE sale recently was in the convention! I was suppose to get JUMP's first photobook, but apparently they didn't have it anymore (plus it was like P1200!@_@) D: But when I went to their stall in the convention, THEY HAD DREAMS COME TRUE!!! And it was the only thing they had there among JUMP's CDs o__O" So I grabbed it right away without even thinking twice!>D They had Dreams Come True and Over yesterday, but Over was sold out =_=" Meh. But anyway, they were selling Dreams Come True for P420 originally. But they gave it to me for P400!xD Normally, CDs like these cost around P800-1000 here in the Philippines. But this shop gives it for the same price that they buy it in Japan (converted to Peso of course) *A* So it's REAAAALLY cheap! Plus to the fact that they give discounts! GOSH. It's my favorite shop now (I should've gotten the CDs of NEWS there too =_=" Now, I regret it.)!xD I can't wait for their next JE sale!(>u<)
So I got these:
Dreams Come True RE!*A*
Yuto & an onigiri hand-made keychains!
2 of these keychains with the same design at the back:
Back to back keychain:
And a HSB cushion!*u* (my sister has HS7 xD)
Yuto bag tag (courtesy of my sister) + smaller keychains
Domo-kun cellphone case
There were lots of other good shops too in the convention. But we got everything we saw that we wanted and left right away.
Then we headed to China Town (FOR THE FIRST TIME~!). But on our way to China Town, we sidetracked to Luneta Park since it was along the way (and yes, this was my first time to go to Luneta Park HAHA). There were lots of people since there was an event for Chinese New Year there. We also saw lots of tourists around including people of my own race, the Japanese. It was overall nice there :3 It was interesting also especially after having to study Rizal in a deeper aspect just recently. I really wanted to go to Fort Santiago, but we were pretty out of time =_=" So maybe next time :)) ...I hope?
We headed to China Town finally~! We roamed around and found interesting things like this guy who sells needles for embroidery was showing how to do it. And the man was funny xD We bought 3 embroidery needles 'cause we wanted to give it a try xD Haha! We also saw lots of vendors in the markets, especially those that sell traditional Chinese foods. And the decors hanging were nice too :3
But just one thing. Because it's Chinese New Year, a lot of places were closed especially the restaurants. All the available restaurants were so few and it was all full since China Town was jam-packed. So we ended up in one restaurant where we were able to get a table, but the food wasn't... just the best. We weren't satisfied with the stuff. We wondered why the people in the restaurant ate like the food there was really good (=_=) Since we weren't satisfied, I and my sister compensated with milk tea xD Hahaha~! After the unsatisfying dinner, we headed home.
