I would just like to say that... three pics is not sufficient for the likes of me! Also, I am sorry for the insane length of my last post - Dreamweaver, apparently, is not failsafe. that table with the movies and things was -way- out of control.
But anyway, look! it's a blurry half-pic of me in London. well, on my way to London in the train. such good times! I need to go back. I saw Harry Potter twice at Leichester Square, plus Noises Off, the Tower of London & the crown jewels, Westminster Abbey (hands down, best Abbey i've ever seen), and lets see.. Harrods, and Covent Garden Market. oh! and the National Portrait Gallery. And other things im not thinking of now but will later and kick myself. I need to go back because I didnt get to more museums (it's okay! theyre almost all free), I didnt see the show I wanted to see - correction. i didnt see ANY of the shows i wanted to see. ive seen Noises Off a hundred times and the jokes just arent that funny any more! I wanted to see The Play What I Wrote, or Les Mis, or.. ANYTHING. don't ask. it's my regular idiotic bad luck/stupid decision-making. I still had an awesome time, other than that. plus, having missed a bunch of stuff gives me a reason to go back. that's what i'll keep telling myself.
It was also such a relief to go to an english-speaking country. call me a lazy American (because damnit, that's what i am) but I miss english SO much. not that i don't love Italy, but you cant imagine how much i'm looking forward to going home to the land of the fast lane and wide open spaces. if i see one more Fiat i will be physically ill. >>gets physically ill<< and the Vespas.. lord. i'll have nightmares for years. But you know, I think i understand what the Italians must think of us now. When i was in England there were only a bazillion French people, speaking french all over the place. and every time i got all annoyed that they werent speaking goddamned English and why the fuck werent they speaking in the language of the country they were in, I remember how my classmates and I must look, stutting through the piazzas bathering in english. I'm glad we're leaving soon, i feel bad for the Italians who have to put up with us. like the poor lady at the post office today who didnt understand what i wanted and who, i'm sure, hates my guts.
And I just found out yesterday that I am limited to two checked bags and one carry-on on my flight home. And yes, I know, security is tight and i'm glad.. but please! i've been here four months, i cant possibly get all my shit home in two bags and a carry-on! to get rid of some of my stuff I shipped out a 14.5 KG box (whats that, 28 pounds? 30?) home today. I shipped it via the Poste Italiane (otherwise known as the Let's Chuck Packages At Walls En Route League) with their cheapest option - surface. and its going to take.. one month. at least. and for how much? 95,900 lire - almost $50. damnit! it's my fault for accumulating so much, shut up, i know.
speaking of which, that was the last of the money in my petty cash fund. ha! its credit from here on out (not that i havent racked up a fine bill so far.)
Also, ive bought at least 20 CDs (not including singles) while i've been here. and six Friends DVDs. i'm sorry, but i buy things i like, and we dont have the entire Friends series on DVD in the stupid US! i must take advantage of the cool things for sale here. I also bought the Harry Potter soundtrack in London, and its quite cool! came with an extra CD with a wallpaper and a bunch of trailers and (supposably) a screensaver on it. of course its not for the mac, so i'll never know.
But while we're on the topic of Harry Potter, i would just like to mention that whatever MORON was in charge of marketing for it REALLY dropped the fucking ball. I mean, come on, how many cool opportunites were there here? only a ZILLION. but the stuff out there is pure crap. i managed to procure a couple chocolate frogs and Bertie Botts beans at the theatre, plus i got myself THE COOLEST tshirt ever (its dark grey and it says Quidditch on it and it has two broomsticks and a snitch) - but that's it. and the packaging on the frogs and beans is so horrendous. i cant handle it - remember how they look in the movie? why couldnt they package things like THAT?? in gorgeous hexagonal wizardy-looking boxes? Does anyone know what I mean? They could have had some class is all i'm saying. maybe it would have cost them a little extra, but then they could charge more and ended up making more money. but no, instead they have goddamn ugly little purple Warner Brothers commercial garbage.
okay, alright, i'm done - this probably took more space up than my last thing anyway. These are just some of the things on my mind. i know its all pointless, stop laughing! I'd rather do this than either of my papers, so just let me blow off some steam. oh no wait, too late, you've already read it and you have no choice! mahahahaha..
