I agree regarding Oliver, but I think Chloe's that way too, even without the bottling up. She knows how he is, she knows why she's at Oliver's and doesn't want to waste his time. I thought about adding small talk, but it never worked.

Actually, you partially inspired that. The downside to being immersed in pop culture is that you almost expect things like this to be perfect in real life, even though I'm more than guilty of my share of putting my foot in my mouth. To me, Chloe's feelings for Jimmy were complicated and in the end, I don't really know where she stood in canon. Hence the hesitation here. While I wanted to believe during early S9 that she loved him, you can't help but wonder if it was guilt that drove her (of course then Roulette happened, and I didn't care).

Long story short, I've always liked pulling out character thoughts and exploring them, but exposing the imperfections within them is something more recent.

With Chloe, full tears have to have a good reason. I think I've written her shed a single tear or something, but Chloe is insanely good at holding back her feelings from everyone. Alone is a different matter, but I didn't think it fit here, especially because it's more guilt than sadness. That said, I'm glad that you like that part of "my" Chloe.

Thanks as always. Conclusion hopefully will get up sometime this week. I have a few more tweaks to do before posting.
