That line was a last minute addition, actually. I was trying to describe the relationship from Lois' point of view and then it came to me and I couldn't not use it.

The funny thing with Chris is when I first developed her character, she was just a gal pal... but I wanted her to be relevant for this plot, I almost felt she had to be. So, like Evie, I got an idea and got completely carried away. Good to know it's working so far, because even though she technically lost her ability with her sister's death, she's still good at reading people. You'll see that she has a clearer picture of things than most realize.

Regarding the respective deaths in Chloe's and Oliver's lives, they are still affected by them, but being surrounded by people who have struggled grounds them, especially in Oliver's case. As for Chloe, it's more distraction, as Clark and Lois pay more attention to her (like they should have on the show)

As usual, I like when you read into things, even if it likely is too much... I like the assessment for that line.

I really wanted to make the situation with Chloe's dad believable because I didn't want to kill him off (again). I found the way the show handled him to be quite strange, but it wasn't always the strongest continuity wise. And yes, Lex is not a complete bastard here.

I'm messing more with the next chapter than I thought, so I'll probably be a little late with it, but I hope to update soon.
