Short and sad. *sniff* But at least, Oliver was letting her go because he cared.

Thanks for sharing, Sera! ::-)

*hands tissue* Yes on both counts, but the inspiration didn't come from a happy place either. This was an interesting place for the Chlollie relationship... and it felt plausible so I ran with it.

Thanks for commenting Dee!

Yes it is. With this particular lyric, I couldn't make this a happy ending (for once). Thanks for the comment Keiko.

"He was dragging Chloe through all of his bad habits and it had to stop. Outside of Watchtower, she was a regular woman, and she had a chance for happiness if she let herself. And Oliver had to let her try, even if it led to his own loneliness." I don't recall reading a fic about Oliver letting Chloe go, not because he was protecting his own heart, but because he saw that he was enabling her avoidance of real life, preventing her from having to learn to trust others again, and crippling her healing process. Sad that Oliver didn't believe he had a shot at happiness. Shows how much he loves her even if he has not admitted it to himself yet. This fits into the Oliver and Chloe we saw on the show. I'd ask for a sequel, because I can totally see how from Chloe's point of view, Oliver abruptly dumped her, with no warning, and just after sex no less. However, I think I like the story complete as is. Thanks for posting. We should all be as creative and eloquent as you when hopped up on cold meds!

It's funny, because I had no intention of writing a sequel, but I may (no guarantees) just to show my appreciation for this comment. This may not feel like much, but this kind of feedback means more to me than I could possibly express. And while it feels inadequate, the best I have is: thank you :)

This one made me cry. But still love it. Do you have more stories to post? I gotta feed my chlollie addiction. Lol. Thanks for this fic.

Well, it is a sad fic, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Yes, I do have projects on the horizon (also trying to finish up a few WIPs). I've been under the weather, so my projected posting dates have been pushed back, but I did just post a little drabble, so I hope that will help :)

Thanks for the comment!

It is, but not all stories have happy endings. That said, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
