i destroyed my cell phone in a particularly spectacular manner today.
wait let's backtrack so i can tell the story properly.
so i kept needed this huge heavy art history textbook for my art history class called gardner's art through the ages. i finally got it today from arjun and then realized i had a 3 1/2 hour break between my classes. now this book weighs about 20lbs and i didnt want to carry it around. so i called up tom to ask him if i could drop it off at his house because hes only a 15 minute train ride away. so i dropped off the book and then told him id come back for it around 10PM after my class.
i was gonna go back uptown to get to my school to the 8:25-9:40PM class and i went inside the 14th street station. there was a 4 train already sitting in the station, doors conveniently opened. so i jumped inside the subway car and my cell phone, which was in the front right pocket of my hoodie flew out and fell into the space between the subway platform in the car. it apparently wanted to kill itself. then the car doors shut and i went to class.
after class i took the train back down to union square to get my book and i decided to check the uptown platform to see what remained of my phone. it was lying on the tracks with the battery detached and run over.
there was a cop standing on the platform that said, "oh that's your phone?" and i told him what had happened and he said he'd get it for me. real weird that this was a cop that actually wanted to do something helpful. freaked me out. so he asked me to hold his belt with his gun because it was really heavy and he jumped down to the platform and got my phone back for me.
unfortunately i cant make any phone calls off it cause i dont have the battery and i can apparently buy a new phone for $10 so i might just do that.
either way, the point of this story is this: if youre gonna call me in the next couple of days youre probably gonna have a hard time reaching me. call my house #
