I did wonder if I'd made it too odd or dire, so I did contemplate sending it to you, but decided, wth. Were you being unsettled in a satisfying way, or was it just ... unsettling? I never forget that Carsten's in a bit over his head ("you can't stop me!" lol) And I can't decide which is worse: Eric's cluelessness or Godric's twisted love.
Writer to writer - overall, did this rollercoaster work? Was it a fun, thrilling ride, or did the ups and downs leave you with that vomit-y feeling?

It's funny that you should say "vomit-y feeling," because I did have a very visceral, gut reaction to this. Not sickness exactly, but like being punched and your not sure where the blow came from. But a good punch (lol, just trust me on this). This may be the masochist in me speaking, but I enjoy reading stories that make me want to vomit (or cry, or laugh, or rage). So, I think this did work, and quite well.

As for when things went from "well hello sexy" to "wait, wtf"--I'd say it was right around the time Eric is apologizing to Carsten for hurting him, and then it gets increasing weird the more Godric is brought into the picture. When Eric finally says "What the fuck's going on", I legit said "THANK YOU" out loud. My thoughts exactly, Eric. Or nearly my thoughts, I guess.
That was where I started feeling the ~influence~ the first few times I read it, but going back I actually think something started to tweak my "whoa, hold up a minute" sense earlier, say where Carsten is asking for a pony. It sounded off-hand and kind of sweet at first, but then when I thought about it and considered the scenario, it was really a bit...not creepy, exactly, but jarring. It was that reminder that Jesus, he's a helpless kid alone in a room with a pair of hungry wolves.
