I decided that when I start getting good at the piano I am going to specialize in playing Chopin. I still like Beethoven's music more but I think I would prefer to play Chopin since his stuff is suppose to be harder and it is not as commonly played as Beethoven. I do love Beethoven's music though since it reminds me alot of how I feel inside so maybe I should do it, but I do prefer the idea of playing lighter stuff when it comes to the anger scale and I think that if it works out between Ashley and I Chopin will better reflect the way I feel. Although I hate the idea of playing the music from a half-frog half-pollock man who looks like a woman... ;-) only kidding about the racial slurs.
I also want to try to transpose some of Strauss' Waltzes to the piano because I find them so fantastic and his music just reminds me so much of Ashley and brings that love feeling back out from its hiding place. It makes my ears feel like what my heart feels like for Ashley.
I love how Beethoven's teacher Hayden (one of the great composers) thought Beethoven knew nothing of musical theory (correcting most of it) and said he would be a nobody in the musical world. I am glad that Beethoven did what he did or we may not modern music, but we may still since I am sure someone would have taken us to the romantic period.
As for my 90% of free time going to piano/music, I decided to add reading about composers to the list and just listening to music as well as practicing piano and researching music theory, styles, techniques, etc. I do not know how reading about a composer will help any but they will most likely make me do it in college and make art majors read on the great painters. Painting is truely the greatest visual art since it requires so much skill, allows for so much detail and lets us see beloved colors.
