I never said I started music theory finally, did I? I did but I was stupid and made it private!
Anyways, just going over basic things right now, like scales and key signatures. :'(
While going through my book I saw that it also has little sections that teaches one how to read medieval music also. I do not mean the medieval modes, which it does have, but I mean the old 4 line staff and two line staff as well as the ancient note durations.
The book also has an appendix with the ranges of the other instruments (the book is geared towards piano, like it teaches octave registers on the piano) and a little elementary acoustics.
