An Update About My Games

Sep 04, 2006 16:24

I don't remember if I ever updated this journal concerning my newest games.  I bought them.  I bought Bujingai, DDRMax 2, a DDR pad...which is going to be exchanged for one that has a firm backing, Dirge Of Cerberus, and any other games that I might have mentioned that I have forgotten about.

I am becoming a regular beginning stage DDR addict.  I love it to death right now.  The music just kicks so much ass it's unreal.  I am doing so much with my body now it's unreal. (mind out of the gutter people-mind out of the gutter)  I have come accross a couple songs where this tiny body moves soooo very well.  It moves so well I really do break out in tears.  I don't know how to describe the feeling.  The feet match the arrows and in turn match the beat of the song-it's such an enormous feeling of...I don't have the words for it.  It's just beautiful.

I'm going to pick up the Kona Mix next just to see how the music fares...well, that and the moves.  It's so odd for me to give up on one game because it didn't do something I wanted it to.  See, I usually just restart but not this time.  I dropped Shaodw Hearts Covenant after I missed a combo action then went straight to DDR.

I even got Jason into DDR.  I have been tempted to be like the old teacher/tutor stereotype, though.  You know the kind that stands behind you and when you mess up they swat you with a ruler or a folded up newspaper.  He has a habit of crossing his feet and I can hear it.  I'm little miss perfect-right.  I have my bad habits too-I can only move straight or to the left.  I seem to be having a hard time with facing left or behind. Heh, at least I'm not crossing my feet!!!  I always got yelled at in Karate classes for crossing my feet.  ^^;;;

I have so many favorite songs in DDR-at least this game.  I didn't think I would like any of them because they weren't Boom Boom Dollar or Captain Jack or Luv 2 Me.  I'm listening to some of my favorite knew DDR songs now.

Conga Feeling by Vivian is such an awesome ass kicker song.  It's funny my grandparents used to have a black cat named Vivian. ^^

Next song is Tsugaru.  I am a slave to Chinese fiddle music.  There's an album I need to look for that is very similar.  This song is so fast paced and so traditional sounding.  The arrows are murder for me to keep up with.  When it's all said and done I end up with at least nine "BOO" and got knows how many "ALMOST."  I don't think I have been able to string together any combination steps yet.  When Jason wants to get back at me for beating him on points-or when I want to get back at him for the same- Tsugaru is the favorite revenge.

A new favorite is Ghosts.  It's so pretty.  There's so much techno in this game it makes me want to find Eminem and slap him with as many DDR games/albums I can get my hands on.

GAWDS, I LOVE BUSY CHILD!!!  The steps won't kill you and the beat is viel spass.  Jason said the first time he heard it was in Gone In Sixty Seconds (the Nicholas Cage version.)  I think that's what he said-I never noticed it...I missed out I guess.

A song I did not expect to hear on DDR MAX 2 was AM-3P.  I'm not a Gundam or Gundam Wing person anymore.  I think there are way to many titles and too many fandoms now.  It's just me because I'm old and get insulted when someone tells me how girly things are.  I mean no disrespect to Gundam peoples-I still have my tupical Gundam Wing favorites but I haven't been in the same frame of mind to go bragging on them anymore.  I will however say that the best Gundam anything I have seen is an AMV.  It's Gundam almost everything (with the exeption of the original Mobile Suit: Gundam).  If I can find it I'll put it up with some other stuff.  It's a Scott Metzler-which is such a bonus-I love a lot of his AMVs and would just die if I saw him at a convention.

There are more favorites but I'm running out of time.

I love Bujingai despite my not paying it too much attention.  There are some moves that are kind of "what the fuckish" but it's flashy and it's pretty.  I love the colors, the moves, the sounds-it's such a wonderous game.  I'm a little upset by the secret items you unlock...so far it was the Bunjingai press conference.  Don't get me wrong-it was pretty funny with Gackt and his sense of humor...but I don't know.  I was kind of hoping for more.  I can't wait to find alternate costumes.  I think there's one of Gackt in his normal attire running around in a world ruled by demons.  It would be so funny too see this huge undead creature beating on a plain clothed J-Rocker...there's a term for something like that...my brain is so off track I can't remember it.

I'd play more of Bujingai but DDR and Shadow Hearts: Covenant...and now Final Fantasy X-2 have been getting in the way.  Soon I will be beating Final Fantasy X-2.  It's kind of a shame because I haven't finished the dress spheres and I have given up on the Via Infinato.  For that game-that's all I had left.  Yuna's going to be playing DDR soon. ^^

Dirge Of Cerberus isn't completely a bad game.  I haven't gotten too far in it so it's not fair for me to say it's awful.  I like it to a point.  I hate that there are so many cut scenes and I'm not even anywhere near the half way point.  I also HATE the voices for this chick all in red, Vincent, Cait Sith, and the chick with the fake arm and one eye shut...hell, I hate her attitude.  For her looks I was expecting she would have a sense of humor...I guess that would be too stereotypical.

Her attitude is "soooo Motoko Kusanagi-ish."  The only time that attitude works is when the character IS Motoko Kusanagi!!!  I'm sorry-it's the same reason why I dropped my interest in the Xeno Saga anime.  I absolutely HATED KOSMOS.  My reasons are childish for my old age.

What I don't like about Dirge Of Cerberus is the shooting.  I used to be good at shooting games like DOOM 2 and Wolf 3D (the first Wolfenstein/Wolf's Lair).  I mean you couldn't even lock onto targets in the old games but they were easier and scarier.  The only thing scary about Dirge is the voice actors (forgive the chick that did Yuffie and the guy that did Reeve.)  I hate the Romania sounding chick.  Her voice  has caused me to hit the mute button a couple times now.  The WRO thing makes me think of Scooby Doo for some reason.  "WRO Raggy!" *whoa shaggy*

The only other thing that irks me is how bits of the story line have been twisted and cut out.  I like the life left in Hojo thing and the Rufus Shinra on the stretcher thing (you can see the long whit coat and the shoes) but the Deep Ground bit and the excuse Reeve gives for the lack of knowledge concerning is is Squeenix ass raping over the barrel the old fans again.

Wow, I didn't mean to make such a rant.  I CAN'T STAND THE SKIN TONES OF THE GAME EITHER!!!  The synching (I am well aware it was Japanese first but it doesn't matter.)  The facial movements just don't look right for any language.  They all look like they are blowing up balloons.  Final Fantasy X and X-2 had much better graphics and believeable actions.

I don't hate the game.  I haven't gotten far enough in it but I have found so many negatives...I'm sorry.  My reasons really aren't justified.  I just have a hard time with shooters is the big problem.  I bought Metal Gear Solid: Sons Of Liberty but haven't given it too much play.  I will one of these days.  I like how (pun is unintentional) solid the graphics are.

Something about Dirge Of Cerberus is making me want to go back to the only Silent Hill (Silent Hill 2) game I own and Parasite Eve 2.  I want to give them more of a shot despite my list of negatives for the both of them...

I don't mean to complain.  Well, lucky for me-it's time for me to head back to gaming.  Working on Final Fantasy X-2 and/or DDR Max 2.

Catch you all later!!!
