So... Supergirl...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm46-envrHo

Reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_5KgpN38hM and Catwoman. Why couldn't they just stick to the good old-fashioned trying to understand human ways and saving lives Kara? I don't want to see her eating ramen on an intern salary and listen to sappy soap music as she goes between love interests like every other heroine tv show ever. Why can't they ever at least minorly stick to the old script instead of making a tacky tv show and sticking a well-known name to it?

Also, Jimmy Olsen is hot. I wouldn't care about ethnicity but this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Olsen becomes this? http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/01/29/supergirl-has-found-its-james-olsen

"I know, let's make a Supergirl show!"

Me: "Yay!"

"But she can't be a strong independent young woman from another planet, we need to show that we get women. I know! We'll make her act like an actual regular old girl, with a job with a bitchy and/or smartass boss and love interests...

Me: "Er..."

...And oh, oh! Glasses like Superman! And a best friend that she saves with Drama! References to other characters! Guy friends and romance but we'll make it BLATANTLY obvious! It'll be like a gag or something!...

Me: "Gah..."

"...And terrible pop music and action shots, then funny scenes/drama/romance, then more action, then more drama, then we'll follow it up with MORE ACTION! Then..."

Me: "Seems a bit inclusive. Regular young girl with a weird guy friend asking her out. Why don't you just go the Twilight route and have surrounded by cute guys?" (Is joking.)

"...IT'S BRILLIANT! AND WE'LL REFERENCE SUPERMAN! BUT SUPER VAGUELY AND WE'LL MAKE SURE THAT JIMMY'S SUPER HOT-"

Me: "Calm down. And why will you make nerdy Jimmy Olsen hot?"

"So that he can be played by a black actor and appeal to teenage girls and housewives. And we can finally use these stamps that say "We're not racist. See? There's a black main character!"

Me: "Just make the best friend black. Jimmy Olsen's not hot, or suave or cool. It's totally out of character."

"FUCK CHARACTER! I've finally got the chance to air my True Blood office fanfiction on TV and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let nerdy comic stuff get in the way!"

Honestly it reminds me of her 1959 origins and if they can't see a problem with 1959 Kara in 2015 in addition to the little mistakes then there's not much hope.(Dean Kain playing her father? Come on, 'I' could do better than that one. Past Glory hounds much?)

*Sighs* and I had such high hopes when I saw the first pics for the show. Guess I'll go back to reading Harley Quinn comics and lamenting the lack of strong female characters on tv. Maybe I'll be wrong though? I was wrong about Daredevil!

God I hope I'm wrong.
