Crashed Motorcycles and Lack of Sleep

Jul 15, 2007 01:12

So it's been a little while since I've updated, mostly due to the fact that I'm either: working, sleeping, or both. Free time has been a relatively precious commodity, and typing up an LJ post, while on my top list of things to do, tends to get put to the wayside when life intervenes. Most notably lately was Friday the 13th, a day that normally doesn't live up to its name, but that day *phew*, suffice it to say, I'm glad it's over. It wasn't necessarily a long bad day, but it was a long annoying day. Started out with going to bed at around 2am, and being woken up by a phonecall from work at 5:30am asking if I could come in, which I...didn't answer, rolled over and went back to bed. Sadly, they called again at 7:30am, and this time I answered (if only to make them stop calling), and volunteered to go in at 9am to cover for the person who'd called off. So I'm kinda low on sleep, cause I never really got back to sleep after that, and shower up and eventually head into work.

So work that day, geez, busy all day, lots of crap calls, annoying employees, stupid issues all cropping up at the same time. I'm only there for 6.5 hours and it felt like I was doing 3 days worth of work, not to mention a tour with some big wig going through the dispatch center to make work 3 times harder *sigh*. Not to mention working with a coworker I'm not terribly fond of, but that part I can't work around, at least not for another couple of months. To top it off, my uncle, riding my mom's motorcycle was on a ride with my dad, and crashed the bike up on Skyline. So, instead of the original plans of going out with my parents and my uncle and my cousin to dinner, my dad and I drive up to Skyline load the trashed bike into the van and drive it back down the hill. *sigh* Crazy day, at least it ended well though, went out to dinner with my dad to the Outback. My uncle is fine too, just complaining about pain, took some good hunks of meat out of his arm, but that's what he gets for being stupid. Ohh, and pictures:

Other than that, I've been kinda tired, especially with the shift I just worked of 330am to 1130am, weird shift, totally broke my internal body clock, but meh, no biggy. I've got today (Sunday) off, so I plan to make up the lost sleep and hopefully get my rhythm back. I've been in an affectionate mood, need to find me a good outlet >.<. Other than that *shrug* life is normal. Once I've recovered from my sleep I should be good to go again :).
