A snippet, jumping ahead a bit, via writer's block.

The car settled to a stop; here was as good as any, really. The road stretched on to the horizon in either direction bordered by flat endless plains and not another vehicle in sight for miles. They were both too tired to drive any further, despite the copious supply of caffeine, and the nearest piece of civilization was probably another hundred miles on. Jonas killed the ignition, leaving only the stars to illuminate the inside of the vehicle, the moon mysteriously absent that night.
Darcy quickly extricated herself from her seatbelt and kicked her now-bare feet onto the dash. The pale blue light of the night sky hinted at a star-shaped tattoo above her ankle, partially hidden by the leg of her jeans. The supposed waitresses lit a cigarette and handed it off to Jonas before lighting a second for herself. Leaning her seat back, she watched the sky through the car's moon roof. Jonas decided to gather his thoughts as he joined her in watching the Milky Way shift by, however imperceptibly. He wondered specifically how he had managed to talk himself into driving across the country with a woman he just met and a carsick cat in a frantic effort to “rescue” a woman he didn't have any real evidence was in any trouble in the first place.
He decided, after a moment of careful reasoning and logical thought that he was, in fact, simply an idiot.

Hooray!! Time:
- Back on my meds!
- Back at the gym!
- I applied for a job!
- Someone wants to buy prints from my show!
- I wrote something!
- Fixing my life!
Things are changing really quickly, suddenly. I owe a whole lot to one Miss Stacy. More than I can go into detail about at 4 a.m. Perhaps some other time, when the sun is around and I'm not relying on caffeine-enriched mints to stay awake for no reason.
Good night, and good luck.
