I dug a hole - so someone bury me in it

I am in serious SERIOUS EXTREME financial troubles.

Kevin, Lane and I moved in this weekend and things along those lines are going smoothly. Lane and Kev had a great time hanging out last night and Kev kept an eye on Lane while I unpacked some things. BUT I should have done the math way better prior to agreeing to this new living arrangement. I ( Read more... )

Before making yourself bankrupt go and get some independent, and hopefully free, advice. In the UK there are citizens advice groups that, amongst other things offer advice on debit. Going bankrupt will have reputations for the rest of your life, moorages, financing, even car hire it’s never ending. May be a quick win, but then never ending pain.

Also different debit, has different interest rates (again comment based on the UK) credit cards are one of the worst, however reading on Google PD loans seam even worse. Again sitting down with a debit planer maybe a few other options could pop up.

Looks like chasing the child support down is a first step, however you have to wonder how much of it you are going to see. On the bright side it should be tax free, so will be worth more than getting paid more in the office.

As another suggestion can you get a pay advance? I know this could just move the pain, but again as part of a plan may be getting a pay advance could allow you to get rid of some, or all of the PD loans. I know you are looking to move from the current job but may be its an option?

More painful suggestion but any way to get a second job somewhere, even just for 6 months, look at it as a blitz to get a fresh start for the three of you. May be Kevin/Mum could look after Lane for a few hours in the evening. Bar/restraint work does not pay well, but this is dollar for dollar to pay the debit off, so income plus the interest rate make the “income” appear a lot more attractive, and god knows in X months another bill could be gone.

I think that most companies want their money back, rather than your ass (even a pretty little ass like yours) as such I think they may also have suggestions on how to clear the debit. It’s not the lenders them being charitable, it’s just good business.

There must be someone you can get help from, and it must be worth a few calls, I have a feeling that personal bankruptcy is not the best option.
