PATIENCE. What a small yet important word and an even more important quality everyone should have (or work on)...I swear, everything I do lately comes back to that word.

I got an update on the ID theft situation today...and so far...its good news.
I talked to an officer this afternoon and he said they had enough information or evidence to pursue. When I asked him what that meant he said that the number that was written on the checks connects to Tia from a previous, unrelated case. WOOP WOOP!! He also said what is going to happen now is the officer assigned to the case will go and talk to Tia, if she denies being connected to the incident the cop will then go to the clerks who excepted the checks and if they can get one to identify her as the check writer then case closed. If it looks like Echo and Tia knew someone who worked at Winco (which in that case they'll only have 1 maybe 2 clerks to talk to instead more like 4, 5 or 6) who was doing them a favor and the/those clerks cover for them then I may have to identify the clerks as someone they might know and then they may also be in trouble. I am worried that Tia is going to be the only one in trouble with this even though Echo is just as connected, since he more then likely supplied the checks to her (unless, she stole them without him knowing about all this??). So I talked to his ex girlfriend this afternoon as well and she said itd be ok if I gave the cop her name and number and she can also explain Echo's character to them and how he stole $2000 from her (but was never punished cause he used the money to move back to Cali).
Another weird connection to this is how the number thats written on the checks connects to not only Tia but to MY KEVIN as well...The number she used is now the number of Kevin's roommate Dave. Thankfully the cops quickly realized Kevin and Dave have nothing to do with this. Also, the date the first check was written was the date of mine and Kev's first date!....bizzarro...

Soooo not only is there the aspect of catching who committed the crime but there is also the collections agency. Worst case scenario is the cops cannot get confirmation that Echo and Tia did it. The only way I can get this off my credit report is to (a) pass a signature test (see if my sig matches the ones on the checks AND (b) even if the cops cannot verify it was Echo and Tia they need to be able to say YES, theft did happen and YES, she (me) is the victim of identity theft.

BUT....hopefully there is no worst case scenario... I mean cooome on...Tia has a record of this crap AND the phone number on the checks used to be her's ANNND I have written proof of her threatening and harassing me saying she'd screw my life over. ("you have no idea the power I have, how much money I have and who I know." or another favorite of mine is "Keep fucking with me and I will make sure you regret it. Thats not a threat, thats a promise.")

Now, its a waiting game. And this is where more of my patience will come into play. Not only am I waiting on this to get my money back (and applied to my credit) but my tax return and child support as well. Next up, get my brakes fixed, pass DEQ and get rid of the teal chunk of metal called a mini van thats sitting in my drive way...
