a hundred missed calls, 3/3 anonymous January 6 2013, 09:38:27 UTC
An awkward silence ensues after Sehun changes. He's holding a plastic bag full of wet clothes and a piece of towel on the other when he comes out and Lu Han settles comfortably on his couch. He's not speaking anymore unlike last night in his texts and Lu Han figures that Sehun was never really the talkative one between the two of them. It's always been him who usually talks, be it in coffee tables or in the car, and Sehun would always listen eagerly. Sehun is usually more comfortable when it comes to phone calls and messages, thus the overflowing phone bill that had Sehun apologizing over and over again. But then Lu Han remembers asking him once about it and Sehun only shrugged, a small smile tugging on his lips and said, "Sometimes I don't know what to say when you're in front of me." Now the guilt is eating the crap out of him. Fuck Sehun and his persistent being.

"You know I've been thinking that I'll stop," Sehun finally says as if he's been reading Lu Han's mind, his voice coming out strained. Lu Han feels as if someone stepped on his chest, trampled his heart for no apparent reason. The feeble laugh Sehun does is making his head spin. "It's better for the two of us. It's better for you."

Lu Han might have been gripping his mug harder than he should. When he looks up, Sehun is staring at him, those gentle eyes he never really paid attention to full of remorse and sadness. "I'm sorry, Sehun."

"I'm pretty sure I scared you with how I acted," Sehun says. "But that's just me when I like a person."

"I-" Lu Han starts but he doesn't really know what to say anymore. No one had really paid this much effort on him and it's a pity to let it slide away. "I've been a jerk to you and you're really nice but I will hate to see you go."

Sehun looks at him confusedly and opens his mouth. "You're selfish, you know that?" It comes out as a cold accusation, his tone shifting drastically and Lu Han actually flinches.

Lu Han bites his lower lip and looks away. "I know I am."

"You're an asshole."

"I've been hearing that a lot from other people lately," Lu Han says dejectedly with a frown. "But I'm going to give this a try and see if it's going to work out?"

"Still doesn't change the fact that you're actually an asshole."

"Sehun," Lu Han says, feeling panic rise up on his chest. "Just. Let me be selfish again."

"This is the last time," Sehun finally says although his voice wavers. It's obvious how much he likes Lu Han, damn it. "I'm not going to wait under the rain anymore for you to open your door. That's never romantic."

Lu Han only smiles, a laugh bubbling out of his throat and says, "I'm not going to chase you away again as long as you promise you're not going to call me a hundred times a day."

Sehun flushes at that, cheeks red and almost lets out a strangled moan. Lu Han only grins up at him, feeling lightheaded. After hesitating for a while, Sehun finally settles on the space next to him, curls a hand on his own hair and says, "Your friend Zitao actually told me to do that on purpose. He said that's what you'd want."

Lu Han only chokes on his tea and promises to kill Zitao later, but for now, he reaches up to hold Sehun's hand, his palm warm against Sehun's skin.
