Seohyun wakes with a start in the dead of night and she swears she feels the ghost of a whisper in the air around her.

"Sunny," she shakes the sleeping woman's shoulder, "Sunny, wake up."

" 's okay, Seohyun," she's only half-conscious and she plants sluggish kisses along Seohyun's collrabone, " 's okay..."

"No, no, wake up" SUnny pats her face in response and Seohyun gives up. She climbs out of her hammock to find someone who will actually listen and she freezes when she hears it again, that quiet whisper. She rushes over to the nearest person and tries to shake them awake.

"Mind your own business." Sooyoung sounds drunk, even through the layers of sleep.

"Sooyoung, please!"

"Just mind your own business."

Seohyun gives up again and climbs up to the main deck. Tiffany and Taeyeon are taking turns looking through a telescope and murmuring quietly between themselves. When Seohyun moves beside them, both turn to her; Tiffany smiles in greeting and Taeyeon touches her ear in question. Seohyun smiles back and nods.

Taeyeon brings the telescope to her eye once again and surveys the sea before them. Seohyun doubts that she can see anything in the darkness, but Taeyeon is nothing if not careful. The three of them tense when a whisper disturbs the air. TIffany brings her lips to Taeyeon's temple in an attempt to calm the captain.

"What is that?" Seohyun is the one who breaks the silence between them. TIffany shoots her a look that tells Seohyun she's probably better of not knowing, but Seohyun just waits for an answer. When Taeyeon speaks her voice is quiet and heavy with something Seohyun can't identify.

"Bad news, that's what. I can't see him, but I know he's out there. We all heard him. If we'relucky he won't get to us until tomorrow."

The captain sounds so serious that Seohyun is hesitant to ask her next question.

"Who is he?"

Taeyeon's voice is barely a whisper when she answers and Seohyun has to strain to hear it.

"JYP"

This scene was just soemthing I needed to get out of my head, but it doesn't fit with the main fic so... extra. It probably wasn't exactly what you wanted, OP, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

This was a fun read. :') That last scene, where Seohyun searches for Sunny - I really like how it turned out.
