'you're certain about this?' dongwoo asks, voice trembling with barely held back tears.

junghwan nods once, biting his lip, 'you'll be happier with out me.' at dongwoo's incredulous look he adds, 'in time. just don't wait for me ok? promise me that.'

dongwoo wants to promise junghwan he won't but he knows himself better than that and the truth is he would wait until the seasons passed and he was left an old man. junghwan though deserved an answer even if he was currently stepping on dongwoo's heart and breaking it into crumbs like he did the cake crumbs dropped while scarfing yet another slice into his mouth. and that is what junghwan was currently doing, taking in more than he could chew with his sudden desire to try out on american Idol, leaving dongwoo behind before even mentioning he auditioned.

'junghwan, ' dongwoo pleads, voice breaking, ' please don't make me. '

junghwan's face screws up into a confused expression, somehow dongwoo isn't surprised that junghwan doesn't understand.

junghwan was laughs and smiles and here and now. he was ambition and hidden strength but never past or future. junghwan was the smile on dongwoo's lips and the laugh in chest. junghwan though wasn't the ground under his feet nor the sun in his future. dongwoo would always be the here and now never the love junghwan's life. dongwoo knew this but the ache wasn't any less with knowledge.
