black bird, black bird.

"you're so beautiful," jinyoung breathes, watching the man across from him. the branches separate them and there are leaves floating in the sky. the wind smells like pumpkin and spices.

the man smiles, brushing his ebony hair out of his eyes. "why thank you." the mountains stretch up like a backdrop. the terrain his bumpy and jinyoung wonders how it was a dry, flat field just a few meters away. it was so simple and plain just a few meters away.

it was a mystery; this forest.

it wasn't like this. he had been going to this forest since he was just a little boy, but this was the first time he had seen this man. this man of pure beauty.

"what is your name?" jinyoung asks. he cannot help but look at the man that stands before him. he wears a coat of feathers, the same colour of his hair. he wears glasses and diamonds cover his front. his eyes shine in the mid-afternoon light.

"you are jinyoung," the man answers. he turns around, heading away from jinyoung, towards the mountains. "i am shin dongwoo. and you are new."

jinyoung tries stepping over the branches, but they are awkward and high and he can't find himself over. the man doesn't stop walking, and jinyoung swallows with fright.

"shin dongwoo! please let me follow you!" jinyoung pleads. the man stops walking and turns around to smile.

"then follow," he says, lifting his hand up. "don't make me wait."

they fall into the leaves.
