The loud patters of raindrops against their room window and the rumble of thunder wakes Kyungsoo up, and he pulls back the curtains slightly to be met with the sight of a gray and dreary morning, letting the fabric fall back into place as lightning flashes. He sighs, already knowing that their plans of going out somewhere on one of their rare days off are dashed with such a heavy rainstorm.

Kyungsoo had planned to maybe have a small picnic since all the EXO members were actually back in Korea for once but from the looks of the storm outside, it looked like that wouldn’t be possible.

The older boy squints at the sleeping lump that is Jongin on the bed across from his, smiling fondly at the way his mouth is slightly open while he sleeps, a line of drool running down his cheek. If only the fans could see the ‘sexy dancing machine’ right now with his limbs sprawled all over the place and half of the blanket slipping onto the floor, the very epitome of the way a typical teenage boy would sleep.

The vocalist shivers slightly at the chill in the room brought about by the storm, and even ducking under the covers doesn’t seem to be helping very much into making him feel any warmer. Kyungsoo eyes the slumbering Jongin and makes a split-second decision, throwing back his blanket and crossing the short distance between their beds.

He carefully rearranges Jongin’s limbs back onto the bed then rolls him, getting a sleepy moue of protest from the younger boy as Kyungsoo fits himself onto the narrow space on the mattress, clinging to Jongin’s back like a limpet so that he doesn’t fall off. The older boy makes a happy sound of satisfaction when Jongin turns to face him, arms encircling Kyungsoo’s waist tightly as he presses a sleepy kiss to the vocalist’s forehead, pulling him closer so that Kyungsoo’s face is pressed up against his shoulder.

Jongin is warm and toasty and Kyungsoo snuggles closer into him, making the younger boy chuckle lowly.

“I could get used to this,” Jongin murmurs, voice slightly husky from sleep as he regards Kyungsoo with sleepy eyes and the way the older boy curves himself around Jongin as if he’s hugging a life-sized teddy bear. He thinks it is one of the best feelings in the world to be able to wake up and be held by someone you love; this warmth isn’t just physical, but it warms his heart immensely too.

“Mmm, gobacktosleep,” Kyungsoo mumbles, already drowsy and half-asleep with how comfortable he is cuddled up to Jongin like this.

Jongin squeezes him slightly, smiles into his soft hair and lets himself fall asleep again with a smiling Kyungsoo who has already found slumber in his arms.
