Jongin blinks at him. “And, I’m imagining boots on them and it’s sort of turning me on. You could do without the lip gloss, though. It looks like it’s going to slide off in a big glob.”
“Wait,” Jongin breathes.
“If you go change,” Joonmyun bargains, unable to believe what he’s saying, “we can talk. Continue to,” he stumbles, thinking talking like Yoda is not a good sign. “Because it’s hard to think with you like that.”
“Maybe we shouldn’t think,” Jongin whispers.
“Do you want to get caught by the others dressed like that? Baekhyun did just get a new camera.”
“I’ll go change,” Jongin says in a rush.
Joonmyun reaches out, realizing they’d been approaching one another throughout their entire exchange without knowing it, and rubs a thumb over Jongin’s lips, wiping the gloss onto the back of his hand to wash off later. “You could have told me. No cross dressing. No boner,” he teases, and Jongin’s blush is suddenly a lot redder.
“I didn’t-I was just thinking-I accidentally-“
“I’m not complaining,” Joonmyun admits. In fact he likes it. A lot.
“I never know what to say to you.”
Then don’t talk to me, Joonmyun thinks, leaning forward.
Jongin’s lips are as slick as they look, but it’s nicer than Joonmyun imagined. Jongin’s mouth is as warm as the rest of him, and he still smells like lemongrass and the lip gloss is cherry and it’s a little sticky, a little messy, and he’d like to do this again, maybe, because kissing Jongin is curling his toes and wiping his mind and Joonmyun thinks maybe he and Wu Fan should switch powers because Joonmyun feels like he could fly.
“Ok,” Jongin breathes, like he’s heard Joonmyun’s inner monologue and whips around, running full tilt out the door.
The pink sequins sparkle, the fabric riding up the back of Jongin’s thighs and Joonmyun stands in a stupor until he hears Jongin shriek and Baekhyun laugh and Chanyeol demand print outs and their manager come back with groceries. Joonmyun’s pretty positive their dinner ingredients are dropped; they’ll have to order take out.
“Leader,” he says to himself, “I am leader,” and strides outside to clean up the mess, thinking that he’s never going to be able to look at Jongin ever again without thinking of lip gloss or pink sequins or kissing.
He realizes after a beat, that actually, he doesn’t much mind.

this is perfect in so many ways.
Also, Jongin has a very obvious boner. Joonmyun’s not really sure who’d be good at taking care of that.
this line made me smile. and it's the right amount of wtf reaction to the situation.
He has to laugh at that, even though his hands are sweating and his breath is coming short and seven years of training still can’t hide how he actually feels. He’s long forgotten that he’s leader. “So, Kim Jongin wants my attention, wants me to look at him like how I do with girls that have long hair and read books, so he cross dresses in a short sequined skirt and lip gloss and says he wants me to find him attractive.”

both of these were just wonderful. i love that jongin is this shy, slightly awkward boy. and joonmyun's play of emotions throughout the whole fic were so realistic and just spot on.

i totally feel like in most situations shy Jongin is his immediate reaction, rather than sexy Kai. but yes. tbh, i haven't written much exo yet, so i'm glad you thought they were characterized mostly well.
