hyunseung doesn’t feel like moving when the doorbell rings, but sighs and gets a move on, moving through the humidity of his house. none of his friends had wanted to go to his house because of the heat, and he hadn’t realized he looked so much like a character from star trek until he looked at himself in the mirror that morning. the morning where the a/c repair man would finally arrive.

(supposedly they have tight schedules-according to the snappy representative that works at the customer service desk named yoseob)

“hello~” the man says cheerily when hyunseung opens the door. he’s shorter than him, but with a nice build and an outfit that screams repair man. his hair is short and black and his eyes scrunch up when he smiles, and so hyunseung is so taken aback by his age that he collides into the wall when the man invites himself in. hyunseung had been expecting junhyung (equally annoying as yoseob, hyunseung guessed that they were relatives or at least dating) who had come the past few times.

“i’m lee kikwang. the machine is outside, right? can you direct me to where it is?” hyunseung nods dumbly, stumbling on his feet as he leads the gorgeous man with the uplifting attitude through his shabby house, out the glass doors, past the pool that his dog uses now, and to the air conditioning machine that has seen better days.

kikwang pokes the machine, a small pout of concentration appearing at his lips. “it looks pretty bad,” he admits, squatting down and opening a small door that hyunseung had never seen before (maybe that was the door that yoseob had always been talking about?) and looking through some wires with a small flashlight.

“yeah,” kikwang says, “i’ll probably have to replace this. you’re fine with saturday at nine?”

“so wait, you’re coming back?” hyunseung asks. maybe he can bake some cookies for him-does he look like a cookie person?

kikwang laughs, “unless you want junhyung…”

hyunseung shakes his head as fast as he possibly can. “no! no! you’re great. really.”

kikwang smiles. “then see you at nine.”

“did you get your a/c fixed?” doojoon asks on the phone that night.

“nope, but he’ll be back soon to fix it~” hyunseung replies, mixing some more cookie dough. “do you think that repairmen like cookies?”

doojoon sighs.
