Amber, who was behind the bakery counter, giggled and shook her head. “You are way too cheesy, Kris Wu.”
The young businessman plopped the bread between his lips and…oh God, it was heavenly! He didn’t care a moan rumbled from his throat. “You all have done it again.”
“Victoria’s the best in town,” Amber winked in pride as she rang the price up at the register. Before she could get far though, Kris cleared his throat rather loudly.
“AHEM! I believe you forgot this,” said Kris. Amber blinked in confusion, but then she looked down at Kris’ outstretched hand with a coupon card with various punctured holes. “Ah, right! You get a discount today.”
Kris tugged on his suit tie with an air of accomplishment. Hey, he earned that discount as much as he frequented that bakery store. If there was one thing he learned in the business world, the smallest cent is worth saving if able. You never know what you may need it for. Kris would like to think of this saving as something to go towards more pleasure trips to the bakery (with other priorities high on the list of course).
“Hey, Amber! Where is the cookie wrapping paper?” a male voice yelled from the back of the store. Kris’ mind tried to decipher who that voice may be, but he couldn’t find a possible match based on his memory.
“In the drawer on the right next to the utensils,” Amber hollered back.
“New guy?” Kris asked.
“Yep! Fresh meat started yesterday actually. We’re giving him small tasks in the back for now. He’ll work up front like me soon though.”
“Amber,” whined the male voice again. “I still don’t see them.”
Amber rolled her eyes and mumbled something about “noobs” before excusing herself to go to the back.
Kris looked down at his watch to check the time. He actually was able to leave the office a little earlier than usual, so he was not in a terrible hurry to get home. He could sit down in the lounge area of the bakery and enjoy his time with the blueberry muffin bread. Yes, this is a good idea. This is what he is going to do.
Kris freaked himself out sometimes when it came to sweets. Honestly, he felt like he was on a date or something…
“I’m checking the front, Amber. Those wrappings are nowhere back there. I checked ALL drawers and cupboards.”
…minus the yelling.
“You just didn’t look hard enough, Lu Han. I know this store like the back of my hand!”
“I guess you don’t look there much then.”
Kris caught a flash of apron and bushy, brown hair from the corner of his eye. Judging by the speed, this guy was getting out of harm’s way a.k.a. Amber.
“Hush! Someone else must have moved them.”
“Whatever,” the guy named Lu Han drawled out.
Kris only caught bits and pieces of the bickering after that point. He wasn’t really paying them much attention. No, he had more serious matters on his hands. Literally.
The blueberry muffin bread piece he pressed into his mouth left sticky, sweet residue on his fingers. Of course, the sweetness could not just stay there, and wiping it off with a napkin was a no-no. That was less pleasure that his teeth and taste buds could be enjoying. Kris needed to lick off the goo, and such acts required great amount of concentration and time for the experience to be at its fullest…
“Um…are you okay, dude?”
Kris felt his thick eyebrow twitch for a moment. Who is this guy ruining his moment with his blueberry muffin bread?
“I am fine,” Kris started to say with tongue in cheek…
Until he got a more decent glimpse of this Lu Han character.

“Yo Amber…why is this guy looking at me like he wants to eat me?” Lu Han’s voice shrilled out.
Eat him? Goodness, no. Kris had no desire for such. He wanted to eat his..erm…
“Oh my God,” Kris muttered when he realized what just happened. All his precious time he was supposed to spend with his beloved blueberry muffin bread was wasted. All because this creature called Lu Han distracted him.
