She remembers whispers into cool air and dark nights, shared secrets and worries - about friends, about school, about the future, about dreams and hopes and wishes.
She remembers ballet practice, remembers practising in this room on afternoons when there were no lessons and she remembers how seeing Joohyun's thin body had been like looking into the mirror but not quite like it anyhow.
She remembers growing up, how Joohyun practised singing even when she sat on her bed spread, tossing a pillow in the air to serve as a distraction - for herself or for Joohyun, she doesn't remember.
She remembers her first boyfriend and how even though she didn't love him she had cried when he broke up with her, how she had run here and had let herself be hugged by someone who cared.
She remembers what could have been the last time she slept over at Joohyun's house, remembers how Joohyun had been shocked and nervous and stiff when she had kissed her on this same exact bed that she's looking at now, this bed with its white and light pink cover as an epitome of girlish youth and naivete.
She remembers the line of Joohyun's back, her pale skin and the curve of her waist as she undressed, how different it had felt the first time they slept on the same bed since they started sharing kisses. How strange it had been and how it could've been the first time their skin touched as with how the warmth now meant just a little bit more, how she now could run her fingers over Joohyun's soft thighs.
However, this is now and she doesn't have the time to stand here and remember everything, everything that has happened in this room, because--
"Are you ready?" Joohyun asks, hugging her from behind and resting her chin on her shoulder. Joohyun puts her hands in the pocket of Yoona's sweatshirt, covers her hands with her own and they're warmer than her own fingers.
"Do you think they'll let your room be?" Yoona asks her, perhaps just a little worried as she removes Joohyun's hands from her pockets and turns around to face the younger girl. She places her hands on her hips, pulls her closer and Joohyun's smile is brighter than the sun; is brighter than how white and blinding the light of the sun through fog is and Yoona has never wanted a girl more than she wants Joohyun. Tall, pretty, strange Joohyun in her proper dresses and old-fashioned shoes and almost make-up free face - Seo Joohyun, who wants Yoona.
"I see no reason to as why they wouldn't," Joohyun answers, sensible as always and Yoona has to smile.
So theres a balance, like the balance between dark wood and bright sunlight and perhaps that's why this rooms is so important, because it's them. Between the walls and the large windows and all the memories from all the years, this is them. Yoona quite likes the thought of that.
