Hyungshik, Hyungshik-it will forever be Hyungshik.
“How was your luck today?” Taehun asks just to add conversation. Their weekly sushi meetings are less often, now, but they try their best to find time for each other. If they can’t, they send each other texts.
Jiyeop is now a big composer in a large company that Taehun knows just enough by the conversations he has with his best friend. He is busy, whilst Taehun isn’t, so whenever Jiyeop calls, asking if he wants to go out and eat, Taehun is always available.
“I think he’s still playing hard-to-get, personally. But soon, I think, I’ll have him. He’ll be mine, even if we have to go someplace else to get married and accepted.” Taehun sighs into his tempura. He should have known that a question about Jiyeop’s new song would be perceived to be about Hyungshik.
Hyungshik was a trainee training at the company that Jiyeop works at. They had met by chance. Jiyeop was already in love. But any conversations had to include Hyungshik. It was weird-Taehun knew more about Hyungshik than his mother, sometimes, just by what Jiyeop told him.
“You really do love him, don’t you?” Taehun asks, and Jiyeop smiles, nodding brightly.
“A whole ton!”
-
Taehun doesn’t have the chance to open his apartment door fully before Jiyeop comes in, pushing his way into his apartment. Taehun turns to see him with a bright smile on his face and two bottles of soju in his hand.
“What is the gracious occasion?” Taehun says, kicking his door shut. Jiyeop’s smile widens, surprisingly.
“Hyungshik and I are now officially dating!” Jiyeop says, and Taehun’s face fills with shock. Really? He hadn’t expected someone like Hyungshik to cave in like that…
“That’s what I looked like, too!” Jiyeop starts laughing, turning on his heel and walking into the living room. Slowly, Taehun follows him into his living room with heavy steps.
-
“I can’t believe he dumped me!” Jiyeop wails, his head on Taehun’s lap.
“Me neither. You guys looked so cute together.”
“I know, right? I should say that he wasn’t worth it, but that’s not the truth-he was so worth it! I doubt I’ll find anyone as perfect as Park Hyungshik is…”

Taehun sighs-he’ll never open his eyes, it seems.
