Yunho pulls up to a pair of teenaged boys, beanies covering their eyes. It's past midnight. A fifty percent surcharge.
They yank the door open, clamber in talking about vocal lessons and falling down at dance practice. Boy two tells Boy one, "it was your own fault for wearing just socks." One smacks Two's thigh, his hand lingering apprehensively on his knee. Yunho finds it all too familiar. A blurry 'SME' on top of the building behind them. Explains a lot.
"Where to?"
"57th Street," Two says, looking down at One's hand, cautiously lacing their fingers together. Yunho sees uncertainty through the rearview.
He's done this many times. Sneaking out to practice hand-holding with Jaejoong, brushing forearms with Junsu. Hesitation with Yoochun. Arms around Changmin's waist. He absently wonders how they're doing, then remembers. Ah.
The cab arrives at a park. They've hidden Beer-shaped bottles under their sweaters.
"You kids ever hear of Tohoshinki?" he asks after they've dug out crumpled notes and refused the change.
"No, sorry," Two says, pulling One by the hand into the frigid early morning air.
"What's Toho-whatever?" he hears, faint, when the door is closed, already on his way to find another pick up.
