It was like Sooyoung was trying to make up for everyone's melancholic faces. The day before their flight, she ran from one room to the next, carrying bags of Korean snacks and Japanese language books in her arms. She laughed loudly, patted a few slumped shoulders, hugged several shorter bodies to her own until they stopped shaking.
Yuri waited until night fell, when quiet finally descended.
She found Sooyoung sprawled on her bed, one arm hanging over the side. Yuri knelt; her fingers encircled the thin, tanned wrist. She brought it to her lips and smiled.
“Ganbarimasu.”
Sooyoung smiled back.
