Chanyeol had finished encoding the last beat for his upcoming mix when he finally placed his bass on the side. It’s been an hour since he started working on his new project for the event. And in that hour, it was a bit strange that he had miraculously done everything from composing to recording his song.
Usually, he would do a piece in three hours no thanks to a certain distraction, who always barge in his sound booth and talk about the comments he had on his previous post. Chanyeol would then just listen to him until his ball of fluff is satisfied. Now it’s odd how it’s been quiet and calm. He wondered that maybe any minute now, his boyfriend would come to him, squealing in joy.
He waited for five minutes but he heard nothing. No Boo! No squealing and definitely no small puppy inside the booth. They just had fun yesterday.
What is he up to this time?
He stood up, stretching his arms from side to side and then on his back. It was only an hour but he felt as if he was sitting there forever. He then made his way out of the booth to check on a missing someone.
Monday (12/08/14)
The Yuletide season has arrived and despite the raging snowstorms and melancholy mists, Christmas spirits are all around in Apartment 627. Byun Baekhyun; Korea’s very own Youtube Beauty guru and Park Chanyeol; the man of many compositions wakes up to a snowy Seoul.
Chanyeol stretches as he grabs for his shirt on the floor beside his bed. He slides the shirt on and rubs his eyes revealing a missing Baekhyun who was supposed to be sound asleep by his side.
Well this is a first.
Baekhyun was never known to be an early riser and seeing that he woke up alone seemed quite strange to the friendly giant.
“Baekhyun? Babe, where are you?” Chanyeol gets up to search for his boyfriend but not before fixing the mess of a bed they were sleeping on.
With his eyes still droopy and a bad case of bed-hair, Chanyeol walks out to the living room and sees a crouched Baekhyun staring intently on his computer screen.
“I CAN DO THIS!” Baekhyun shouts with his hands in the air, pumping for self-support.
Curious and what was about to unfold, Chanyeol looks over his boyfriend’s shoulder and sees what his boyfriend is watching.
How to make s’mores.
"What are you doing?" He plops beside the little one as he leans in closer, placing an arm on the other’s waist.
"We're going to make s'mores." Baekhyun replies as he claps and glances at him. He grins with determination and did that fist pump again.
Chanyeol’s expression turns pale at the thought of Baekhyun in the kitchen. Well, it’s not that bad whenever the little one wonders in the kitchen. It’s just that it’s better to leave the kitchen duties on him rather than with his boyfriend since he knew better than anyone else that Baekhyun is not that person who does well in that area.
"Uhh--Don't you have that thing to film at Luhan’s house?" Chanyeol silently wished that he had something to film.
"Boo, do you see the storm brewing outside? I just got my hair done and I am not going to sacrifice it for another what's in my bag collab-video." Baekhyun retorts as he walks out of the room.
“Now help me set up the camera so that we can film this. I promised the puppies that I’d upload a video by tomorrow!” Baekhyun hands him his Nikon D7000 and a tripod ready for set up.
“Just place it there behind the counter so it over looks out the ingredients and the oven.” Baekhyun instructs.
While Chanyeol sets up the tripod and screws in the camera on, Baekhyun reaches for his pink apron that Chanyeol bought him a month ago. The tall one noticed that Baekhyun is quite vertically challenged so he lifts the little one up to help him reach his beloved apron.
“Thanks, boo.” Baekhyun pecks him on the forehead.
“Can’t we just stay in bed and cuddle all day instead of baking?” Chanyeol pleads with his huge puppy eyes hoping that Baekhyun surrenders to him. His arms currently wrapped around Baekhyun’s waist as he tried to untie the pink apron.
“Nice try but I’m immune to your puppy eyes!” Baekhyun smirks at him as he grabs the tall one’s hands that were holding the laces of his apron and removes it so he can tie the knot again.
“Ahh! I almost forgot!” The little one checks the cabinet and there he finds his baby blue master chef hat, stitched with a cute pup in the middle.
All set.
"Now, is pre-heating the oven the same as letting your curler heat up before you use it?"
Chanyeol steps back as he clears his throat. Baekhyun’s logic is far too creative and it might come out of hand. He thinks that this is not a good idea.
"Well it’s a bit different. S'mores are pretty basic and simple to make.” He explained.
He watched as Baekhyun sticks his head inside the oven.
Nope. This is definitely a bad idea.
"HOW DO YOU TURN THIS THING ON?
Jolting at what just happened, he grabs Baekhyun’s hips and pulls him out from the oven. Since cooking was Chanyeol’s forte, he took charge of pre-heating the oven and setting up the ingredients.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
On the other hand, Baekhyun was mentally checking all the ingredients for his Christmas s’mores.
Graham Crackers.
Check.
Chocolate bars.
Check.
Sprinkle candies.
Check.
Candy Canes.
Check.
“Okay we’re all set!” Baekhyun gives a final nod.
“B, aren’t you forgetting something?” Chanyeol quizzically looked at him.
“Huh? What?” The little one pouted, trying to remember what he had missed.
“Well you can’t really have S’mores without marshmallows right?” Chanyeol lifts a bag of large marshmallows and places it next to the other ingredients.
Baekhyun’s cheeks turn a shade of red. He then walks toward the camera to check if it was recording.
The couple begins to prepare themselves accordingly as they adjust themselves to fit in the frame. Baekhyun starts off with BlushPuppy’s intro.
“Hello Puppies! Today I’m with the one and only PARK CHANYEOL FROM PCYMUSIC!” Baekhyun claps enthusiastically and gestures for Chanyeol to introduce himself.
“Hi guys!” Chanyeol greeted as he did an awkward wave to the camera.
“Since Christmas is almost here we decided to make s’mores!” Baekhyun giggles. “Now this is my first time filming a baking video so if you’d like to see more of this just comment below and let me know!”
He then continued on with introducing the ingredients and procedures on how to make the s’mores.
This isn’t so bad.
“Once you’ve done assembling the s’more, you just plop it in the oven and wait for around 3-5 minutes and viola!”
Chanyeol placed the tray inside the oven, careful not to meet the heat inside.
“Alright babe, now just turn the timer to 3 minutes and we’re good to go.” Chanyeol shuts the oven and walks over to the camera to turn it off, leaving Baekhyun to set the timer.
Baekhyun turns the nob and sets the timer to 3 minutes.
Chanyeol didn't put much of an effort in stopping Baekhyun cause he was fully aware that once the little one was determined to do something, he would really do it.
So from the last bit of Baekhyun's preparation in timing his own made s'mores in the oven, Chanyeol just sat on the couch and prayed to God that everything would turn out fine.
Hopefully.
He spotted his guitar on the side and started strumming as he held it in place. Since his boyfriend's in his s'mores duty, might as well do something that would keep him busy.
While waiting for the s'mores to heat up, Chanyeol fiddles around with his mixer as he tries to work on a new beat for the Youtubers’ convention.
This doesn’t sound right. Chanyeol makes a few tweaks until he gets the right tempo. That’s better.
He continued to jam into the beat until he stopped. His expression turned sour at the peculiar smell.
Oh no.
He sees a cloud of smoke from the kitchen, making its way toward their living room.
"Baekhyun! The s'mores!" Chanyeol runs out in the living room to find his boyfriend with his earphones on and a green facemask at the other room. The taller throws his hands to cover his face in annoyance and calls out to the little one for help. He tries to fan the smoke with a towel but it doesn't work.
Baekhyun finally acknowledges the ruckus and heads out to find a smoky kitchen. He unconsciously opens the oven and takes the tray out burning his fingers.
Baekhyun cries in pain while Chanyeol panics to make sure the smoke doesn’t reach the fire alarm on their ceiling. He quickly pulls out their fire extinguisher, pressing its levers to control the small fire in the oven. After everything has died down, he makes his way in the living room to find his boyfriend in tears.
“Baekhyun, how could you be so irresponsible! You could have burnt this place down!” Chanyeol flustered his anger. He didn’t even notice he was screaming at the hurt Baekhyun.
Baekhyun flinched at the tall one’s voice. “I’m sorry, Yeol.”
Chanyeol sighs as he sees Baekhyun trembling. He never meant to shout at him. It kind of frustrated him with the thought of the house burning just because of a simple burnt s’mores.
He then walks over to his boyfriend after he placed the fire extinguisher on the side.
“Hey, I’m sorry.” Chanyeol crouches in front of him as he lifts the little one’s chin. He wipes the tears with his thumb as he caresses his boyfriend’s cheek. After a few sniffs from Baekhyun, Chanyeol gave a small smile as he leaned in to place a sweet kiss on the smaller’s lips.
"B, I hate to break it to you but...I think your hands are only for make-ups...not for s’mores." Chanyeol chuckles.
"I thought 300 Celsius meant 3:00 minutes. How was I supposed to know that I needed to time it? Doesn't it just *ding* once it's done?" Baekhyun leans his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder as he circles his arms around the other’s tummy.
"I'm just thankful we didn't burn this place. Are your fingers okay?" Chanyeol takes Baekhyun’s slender hands into his own and examines how bad he was burnt.
"They're a bit red from the hot tray." Chanyeol grabs a pack of frozen peas and places them on the little one’s fingers to cool down the burn.
"Be careful next time." He says as he kisses Baekhyun’s fingers. Baekhyun just nods as he places his head on the crook of Chanyeol’s neck. The couple stayed lying on their couch, Chanyeol enveloping his boyfriend.
"Do not include this in the video." Baekhyun gives his version of his puppy eyes as his boyfriend began laughing. “You know I’m immune to that.” Chanyeol jokes.
He really isn’t.
“Yeol! You can’t put this in the video!” Baekhyun whines. The smaller cups his cheeks and faced him in all seriousness.
"I wasn't even thinking about that, but thanks for the idea." Chanyeol chuckles as he pecks his boyfriend’s forehead. He then walks towards the kitchen to prepare the ingredients for another set of s'mores, this time doing it the right way.
After plopping the last batch of s’mores in the oven this time setting the timer by himself and filming the ending for the video, Chanyeol cleans the kitchen up just like any good cook.
When Chanyeol’s all cleaned and finished with the s’mores, Baekhyun entered the kitchen and removed the camera away. He then makes his way to Chanyeol and slithers his hands around him.
“Thank you.” Baekhyun says cutely, placing a sweet kiss on his boyfriend’s nape. “Let's stick with you in the kitchen and me in the living room, okay?" He whispered.
"And us in the bedroom?" Chanyeol jokes as he turns around to face Baekhyun hugging him the same way.
"Just the way I like it." The giant grins, leaning in slowly. He plants a passionate kiss, molding his lips on Baekhyun’s soft ones. The smaller hums in response as he wraps his arms on the latter’s neck, angling his head on the side for more access.
Tuesday (12/09/14)
“PARK CHANYEOL!!!!!!” Baekhyun screamed as he makes his way in the hallway. Good timing too cause it’s just so happened that the person he wants to murder right now is walking toward him with his oh-so-innocent smile.
Chanyeol is now aware why his boyfriend hadn’t bothered him earlier.
I guess he’s done with the video.
He smirks as he crosses his arms along his chest, waiting for another rebuttal from his little one.
“You told me that you wouldn’t upload my video!” Baekhyun throws weak punches at his boyfriend’s chest. On the other hand, Chanyeol finds this side of Baekhyun very amusing.
A little bit of teasing won’t be so bad.
“You did? From what I’ve remembered I even thanked you for your brilliant idea.” He grinned.
“Chanyeol.” Baekhyun groaned. Chanyeol laughed at his cute boyfriend as he showered him with kisses. “You had more than a million views. What’s wrong with that? And hey, I bet the puppies were entertained by their favorite make-up guru.”
“I hate you.” Baekhyun replied. His face still buried on the other’s chest. Chanyeol just chuckles as he rubs Baekhyun’s back in comfort.
“I love you too.”
