Dark eyes, both, met across the length of the terminal. People milled around waiting for the departures, families herding their children while others looked out the window in farewell. Staff scurried around militarily, trying to get the last minute prep work done like good little ants. It wasn't empty, that terminal, nor quiet.
And yet, their eyes met, across that vast length and over all obstacles.
Slowly, with the grace and majesty of two swans angling towards each other, they wove their way across, around, sometimes over and through, until one stood in front of the other, the other doing the same. They bowed, the slightest inclination of their head, gazes locked on, target sighted, bullseye in reach.
“Salaam,” one said.
“Nî hâo,” replied the other.
And then they proceeded to have mad monkey smex right there...ok, maybe in the nice plush waiting room Graff set up for the jeesh because the author just realized zero-gravity smex isn't going to happen since the set up was all wrong! Argh!
