Dilemna

So, last night, one of my neighbors and I discovered that a feral mama cat has had kittens in the area... and she moved them into the drainage pipe for the complex... all the water off of this part of the hill goes to that pipe.

We've got a set of ropes hanging down into the main section of it now, because the bravest of the kittens has been exploring to that point and talking to us from there. There's some dry food there as well. I'm planning on taking a pair of old jeans that I was about to donate to goodwill down there and pouring tuna water on them and putting the tuna at the top...
there's also been talk about using some sort of fishing net or the like to scoop the little guy up. I'm also going to try to climb down where the pipe empties to check and see about the rest of the litter.

So. Ideas?
Suggestions?

I'm calling my friends with O'Malley Alley Cats here in a bit to see what we might be able to do. Its supposed to start raining sometime the end of this week. In fact, it looks like it might do so today.

If I had a 8 or 9 year old, we could easily do this... so long as they weren't bothered by dirt, bugs, or crawling through a pipe. When I was younger, this would have been me doing it.
