Two Apple Lunch

A crew of men with a dump truck and a back-hoe just turned up in front of my house. They proceeded to - as unobtrusively as possible - tear up the sidewalk in front of my house. I watched the back-hoe breaking, moving these massive chunks of pavement with grace and ease into the dump truck. It was rather fascinating - so I stood on my porch munching an apple until they left as abruptly as they'd arrived

Neighborhood curmudgeon Steve Patterson looked less then pleased.
