This is a general tech warning to those of you using Windows XP, especially users of IE who, as of yet haven't applied Service Pack 2.
There's is a JPEG virus going around that you SHOULD worry about. It exploits a vunerability with the windows GDI in the way that it processes JPEGs and allows a 3rd party to install any piece of software they wish. Since it's the windows GDI that is vunerable, using Firefox alone won't prevent infection. Any app that uses the windows GDI to process JPEGs can potentially cause infection. It's also recently reported that it can escape detection from antivirus running with default settings (doesn't scan JPEGs).
Those of you already running Service Pack 2 have nothing to worry about.
For those not, there are patches available if you can't get the full SP2.
