It’s a sad Thanksgiving when Chinese/Vietnamese Lisa is having a turkey dinner and I’m eating Vietnamese food.
Things I learned on Thanksgiving ‘05
1. Do not step into the backroom of a hole in the wall Chinese vendor shop. ESPECIALLY after seeing Human Trafficking. All I know was one second, I’m buying a scarf and the next the Chinese vendor lady is pushing me into a hidden door in the wall. But instead of life of pimps and coke, I found fake Prada bags. On the floor, in the sink, on the toilet, everywhere. I couldn’t even move without being assaulted by counterfeit bags.
2. Do spend the holiday with old friends. Mom invited us over to Gaby’s Mom’s house where we yet again did not eat turkey. But I did get to catch up with Gaby and she’s really matured. A lot. We talked about old school friends and movies. It was really fun.
3. Do not take your conservative Republican mother to see Rent. I know I’m a horrible daughter :)
4. Do think that Adam Pascal and Tracie Thoms are love.
5. I did not have a single piece of turkey.
At least, I didn’t have to spend Thanksgiving with my uncle and his new and ex wives.
