William Ellison Supportive of Jim and Blair

William Ellison generally wouldn't win any prizes as either a father or a friend. Could you please point me toward stories where he is a good guy, who's supportive of Jim and Blair? The stories could have William being supportive all along, or he could have turned over a new leaf, and has set out to be a better person toward Jim and Blair.
