I'm looking for this older, abandoned story where Jim (along with a bunch of other soldiers) have been experimented on. They are kept in tanks in pairs (they have gills, if I recall) and fed raw lobster. Whatever hormones they pump them full of, make the other soldier in the tank rape Jim repeatedly, and then beat Jim because he has issues with having sex with men. There's mpreg (the scientists only stop the beatings when Jim conceives), and at some point there's an explosion. Jim and the other soldiers who didn't die escape.
