Yeah it does make it clearer. I'm not sure how many more I can add to what you've already found. Have you read these:

Guide Me by Rhiannonhero. Slash. Jim is volunteered to go on a television dating show to find a guide.

Ye Olde Curiosity Store by Franscat. Gen.

A Guide For All Seasons by Lily K. slash. guides die early without a sentinel. Naomi has one illegally captured to save Blair.

The Children of Cascade series by Mab. slash. This is more unusual because, after years of abuse, sentinels and guides relocate to a planet where they can live without interference from other people. The world has equal numbers of guides and sentinels. Really good world-building on this.

A Companion By Any Other Name by LilyK. Slash. In this world sentinels and guides are set up by contract that either can break if they want to.

Senses of the Heart by Ceares. Slash. Naomi sets up a sentinel guide matchmaking service in hopes that guide Blair will eventually find his sentinel.

Symbiosis by Calic0cat. Gen. Guides and sentinels form equal partnerships in bonding and have ingrained protective instincts. If the protectiveness is missing, they are unable to bond and go insane.

Once Upon a Time by Arnaa. Gen

Once Upon a Time: Blair’s POV. Gen companion piece

This takes place in Medieval times.

A Different Meeting series by CaliaDragon. Slash.

This takes place in canon time frame. Blair is a famous anthropologist who has discovered sentinels and helps them pair up with guides. Now he's coming back to Cascade but his life is being threatened.

Jayed has two series, but they are both marked as In Progress so I don't know if they are complete enough to read as I don't start WIPs any longer. The synopsis for each is at her site. One is called the Relative series and the other is For a Male Guide. Both are gen.

I hope you find something you like.

Oh, wow - that's a lot of links and happy reading to go through. Thank you. I of course forgot to mention in my update that I prefer slash, but I do read well written gen as well :) Thank you for labeling your links! :)

Great, I'm so glad I've found ones that are new to you. BTW, Jayed also has slash bonding stories here.

I believe I've read most of hers but it was so long ago I can't tell you the gist of them. I don't believe I've read Calia's series either. The rest I've read and enjoyed and that's saying a lot, since I generally don't care for bonding or "sentinels are known" stories.
